Move on lads, they're both below grade 1 winning class this seasonand VDR a Grade 2, beating Grade 1 winner, Hardline, in the process.
You do realise current JLT favourite, Lostintranslation has only won a Grade 2 so far this season, as has Vinndication.
Quite frankly this race is still very much up in the air, and could be won by any number of horses still, no solid standout, a bit like the Arkle I guess, but unlike the RSA.

probably coffee cream for some. I'm sure.& Messire Des Obeaux, don't know if they have many others they could go at for this, so he could be a decent shout.

My real thoughts on them both won't add much more than you've both discussed... I have missed the 'bigger' prices, and the prices they are now just seem fair, rather than standout. So for now I can look past them both

I'm not on big for the JLT, yet. I have him in the Arkle 65/1 for a nice return but my best winner for that is Cilaos Emery now with rolling doubles at 80's and 50's.
Hardline is underestimated probably because he wasn't a top hurdler. Clearly a horse that has improved for a fence. I just love how he jumps, efficient and makes ground with ease. He doesn't travel hard on the bridle. A straightforward horse that will love that hill! LR is another that has improved over fences, maybe that's why he's 8/1 and not 4/1. Mortal another one.
