  • It could be a similar Supreme to when Cinders and Ashes won, think it was 6/1 the field that day.

    • Riven Light another one to dissapoint today. Can't believe Saturnas is top of the tree at Closutton either. Surely Ricci will be pulling out all of the stops to get Senewalk back after his breathing op...

      • Unless Montalbano does the business in the opener tomorrow..

Oooooh I remember that well... my first ever visit to Cheltenham, my first bet on the course £15 each way at 12/1. (SP was 10) I remember it so well!

I'm back to the drawing board in this race... Been so many renewals with a hot pot to take a stand on...now it looks like a handicap

          • So I have no idea with this race right now!

I can right off the 2 Henderson runners (Jenkins and LDS) i had backed in this. I still have Crack Mome but this looks wide open! Unless Moon Racer is/has been the obvious one all along? I have to admit i've kind of dismissed the horse thinking they'll likely be a more unexposed younger horse that could improve past him but so far that doesn't seem to be the case. Reminds of the juvenile division last year where each way a new horse would disappoint.

How likely do we think JP could send one or two this way instead of the Triumph? He seems to have an abundance of talent in the juvenile division. I see Defi du Seuil has been added into the market at 6/1. With the rest of Henderson's Supreme horses disappointing could Charli Parcs perhaps go here? Can't see him priced up but imagine he'd be around the 10/1 price if he did get added in

            • I think Charli Parcs is in at 8/1 NRNB in the request a bets.

I've already done my beans in this race. I've backed every single hype horse so far and have nothing exciting to show for it with the 'exception' of Moon Racer at 12/1. Even his bumper though, Wait For Me and Modus, are only handicappers now? Beating Ballyandy whose bumper doesn't look great. Even Battleford (tied in the Ballyandy on bumper form) is making winning over hurdles at odds on loiok tough... can see why he isn't a sexy pick when you look in to his form.

              • "JENKINS fluffed his lines in the Novice Hurdle and it’s a case of going back to the drawing board with him. He has come back a little sore in places, but I think he is alright. It knocked bits off him but there you go, we have to sort it out and try and get him back to his best. It was not good and we’ve just got to put it all back together again really and give him a chance to get his life sorted out. The Supreme is still very much on his radar. He is a very talented horse and one, I hope, with a bright future."

                • Have we overlooked Cilaos Emery? The form beating Joey Sasa looks quite good, with Joey Sasa winning and running a good 2nd to Brelade since (Who also split DD and IO)? A little "under the radar" because of the owners not being one of the big two?

I've seen him cut to 8/1 with PP and Betfair ... still 14 with B365, 12's NRNB with Sky ....

Entered in the Tolworth on Saturday.

Jenkins is 25s in a place. Funny how things chance, has anything come to light about his poor run?

                      • Haven't read anything other than what Rowebot posting the other day. Supreme still the plan but it'd take a brave man to back him now.

I don't think those are the most negative comments that could have come out. (Assuming they're from Henderson?) but he is really careful and to say the Supreme is still very much the taget I would certainly view positively... I am already on at 20/1 so I won't be going in again, but certainly not going to right it off at this stage.

                          • I'm also on at 20s but won't be rushing to back him again until he has proven himself.

                            • Couple of firms priced up the Tolworth and Finian's Oscar is a really interesting entry. Just popped this in the "any race" thread, but 16's NRNB with Sky .... if he runs and beats Capitaine (who won the Supreme trial) in the Tolworth he'd be a huge contender in this and could shorten dramatically? If he gets beat, he will probably go for a different race.

I think its a smashing bet at this stage. The Potts' do like a runner in the Supreme too? Smashing and Supasundae in the last two years?

                              • We used to have regular updates from The Donn posted in here, this one's a few weeks old now interesting especially as bitchy put this one up on his Ante Post Book thread:

Cilaos Emery put up a really impressive performance to win the maiden hurdle at Navan last Sunday.

Prominent from early under Ruby Walsh, he took up the running after jumping the fourth flight of hurdles, and he never saw another rival after that. His jumping was really good for a debutant, he travelled easily up the home straight, and he was driven clear to win by six lengths from Joey Sasa, who was well clear of the third horse.

As well as being visually impressive, this performance had substance. The time that he clocked was good, the best comparative time on the day by a fair way, and the runner-up set a fair standard. He had been beaten just a neck by Brelade on his hurdling debut over the same course and distance on Troytown Chase day – and Brelade finished second in the Grade 1 Future Champions Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown on Tuesday – and went on to win his maiden at Leopardstown on St Stephen’s Day.

It is difficult to know where Cilaos Emery fits in with the Willie Mullins novice hurdlers, or which route he will take now, but it may be that this performance was under-rated, at least initially, possibly because he races in Luke McMahon’s colours and not in the Ricci or Wylie colours. A game winner of his only bumper at Punchestown last April, he has plenty of pace, and he may not deviate too far from the minimum trip.
