Who have you missed ?

What price would be too short for you to do that?

I don't know if I'll be brave enough to do that, would absolutely love to though.

If I do this though I'll split stakes.
eg.
2pt double - Envoi + something
2pt single. - something

something is an absolute certainty :highly_amused:

Epatante is a horse I haven't got covered at all. She's too short for me to back now so I'll just let her run.

Imperial Aura is the other that I feel like I've missed out on.

haha yeah, let us know what something is. Hopefully better than mystery horse.

What price would you back her at now d'ya reckon?

I don't know price she'd have to be for me to back her in a single. Probably bigger than she's been at any point... until NRNB when I get get my space hopper balls out.

I think I'm more likely to lay her than back her but it's purely a price thing at the moment.

I'd want 9/4 to back her in a single. A bit greedy on my part:wink-new:

Galvin and Sir Gerhard for me, plus Zanahiyr to a lesser extent (managed to get him in a roll up at around 18s).

Less bothered about Sir Gerhard, he definitely deserves to be favourite but he had enough questions to answer. I try not to get involved in the bumper too early, and I stick by that even though it's obviously a kick in the nuts this year. Everyone on here was talking about Galvin, I didn't expect him to win as impressively as he did and his price rightfully took a tumble. No point dwelling I guess... :watermelon:

If any , it's Sir Gerhard and Zanahiyr for me too , but like you Dandrew , i try not too get involved
with the Bumper and Triumph hdle too early .. Only upside is i backed Zanahiyr in july at Fairyhouse @7-1.

No point in looking back. If you've missed a price it's because it wasn't right for you at the time but hindsight is 20:20 vision.

For me personally I ignored Monkfish because I was very keen on Easywork for the RSA. I know that you can't really account for injuries (or death in this case) but I rather stupidly didn't get on Monkfish at the bigger prices. I'm now looking at chucking Monkfish in with a couple of other market leaders to try and get a bit of juice into the price but I'd much prefer to have a single covered at a better price.

I've generally got most of the other favourites I like covered at decent prices and I am not just looking to beef up my selections in those races with some value prices before the handicap markets/NRNB etc start appearing across the board.

I think I’ll need to a alternative thread to this titled ‘who haven’t you missed yet’!!!

Like many I was slow on the up take Zanphir which is frustrating as he was one of Mark Howard’s top 40 horses to follow so I was aware of him. I was genuinely surprised at how much his price contracted for a juvenile. I do have him covered now but it cost me 3 points to bring him in line with a few others in that market.

I also wish so had put more on Envoi at a single price when he was 4/1. The price appeared tight at the time but he’s been brilliant so far and will be odds on if he turns up fit to the festival.

The only other horse I’ve not covered yet individually is CPS but like many of you would rather take that risk and lump on closer to the date.

Only 2 I’m annoyed at myself for missing as cases were made for both, one more just taking the leap on debut but the other was talked about a lot.

Galvin
Dusart

I’d say my list of horses that are/were too short is bigger! But I’d be happy playing bigger stake at lower odds (unless managed a roll up) on these.

Epatante
Honeysuckle/Concertista
Paisley Park
Chacun Pour Soi

I did the same, but because I really fancied TBG. I’ll leave monkfish until the day now

Don't feel that I've missed out on any horse. However, I do think I should have had a little more on the big guns at the tasty prices I've taken as singles. My book is heavily weighted on the Doubles front so I'll need at least 3 of the 'bankers' to come in to guarantee a tidy profit. It could pay off or it could go horribly wrong.

....there are a few mentioned here that are available in ‘win Christmas period/Festival’ specials:

Paisley Park Cleeve Hurdle (Jan)/Stayers 5-1 Hills
Epatante & CH 2-1 Sky
SDB & Stayers 14-1 Sky
Bravemansgame Challow/any race 22-1 Sky: Challow/ Ballymore 25-1 Sky

In respect of this thread, ABP is certainly one I haven’t got onside. I’m considering 8-1 to win Savills & GC.

I wouldn't put anyone off that ABP special Eggs. I'd imagine he'll go around 3's maybe 11/4 should he win his prep so 8's is very tasty.

....yep, I suppose the consideration is 11/2 is currently available for the GC.

Missed a few or was on the fence with them at the time, but the ones I feel silly about are probably Thyme Hill and Sir Gerhard, the latter in particular was being talked about for ages on here at nice double digit prices, so only myself to blame there!

Concertista probably the only horse that has made me wish I had previously got her on side - but it’s not like she has ever been a really big price (I think?).

The biggest opportunity I have missed is (I think) making the conscious decision to not cash out a couple of roll ups with Ferny Hollow in the Ballymore once the rumours surfaced, despite the likelihood he wouldn’t have run there even if he stayed fit. I still can’t figure out what I was thinking there :boxing:

Next season think about your bankers more strategically Lobos. You should be looking to be close to break even with 1 banker, a nice profit with 2, very happy days with 3, and a Caribbean island with 4.
