My rarely used tracker has reminded me that Big River is declared - 25/1 available in a place which I've taken.

Been in the tracker for ages with a marathon trip on the right ground in mind, might not get that but going to back it anyway.

Elegant Escape the one to beat, but he'll be bigger on the day than he is this afternoon.

Yala Enki and Prime Venture two others on my shortlist but haven't taken the plunge on either yet.

Nailed my colours to Now McGinty's mast !!, My theory being he wins so easily that ,.
Santini will be propelled to New Gold cup favourite on the back of it ..
Desperate times these !!

All over Elegant Escape. If he goes back out in price il be topping up the 8’s I took last week. Also in a double with LIT. Prime Venture my EW play

It’s crazy to say this for a marathon big-field handicap but I make Elegant Escape a good thing.

Jumps round and he will win. It’s going to be a crueller where most of the field will be pulled up.

Agree MOM. Feels odd to say about a Welsh National but he's made for extreme distances. Joe said last week - 'he just lacks a bit of a gear mid-race at the crucial time in those top top races, he's just a little bit one paced. Once you get to the extreme distances then he can get away with it'. He then went on to say 'he's made for a Grand National'. Amen

In other news Colin says Gold Cup next.

Elegant Escape is not going anywhere near the grand national and never has been. The Gold Cup has always been his target and that fact has strengthened even further now the Tizzards must have realised that Lostintranslation wont be winning the gold cup. EE is their only hope.

If anybody thinks that EE will win today and will then go onto win the grand national off 171 which will be his lowest possible handicap rating if he wins today then seek help urgently.

Added West Approach @ 12/1 EW. Didn’t really get into any sort of rhythm at Cheltenham but stayed on really well. Hopefully he’s ridden quietly and picks up the pieces

Non runner, not my best opening post :highly_amused:

If people genuinely belive Elegant Escape is being targeted for the grand national then they should be laying him today because he would need to be tailed off or pulled up to protect/drop his handicap mark.
