Weekend Racing

Just watched JAWS for the first time... that hasn't aged well, for all that its a classic :highly_amused:. Speaking of the classic ... (ha), I nearly pressed on La Ti Dah at 7/1 when she was left in and didn't which makes me reluctant to go too crazy. I'd have been taking an un-informed punt but feel like I've left the price behind.. That said though, for me if she stays the trip effectively there isn't a chance Kew Gardens is good enough to give her weight. It doesn't strike me as an each way kind of race though because there are two solid enough at the top of the market.

Contrary to this post earlier, I am now finding myself undecided on which each way bets are best.... Dee Ex Bee at 15/1, Southern France 14/1 or The Pentagon (4 places) at 28/1!

I backed Dee Ex Bee a couple of weeks ago, 14/1, thought the price might contract, especially if the rain came, which it has, I think the stamina test is in his favour, the Gosden horse looked an unlikely runner at the time I backed it though.

Had a decent bet on Holmeswood in the opener at Donny, but I notice Dods other runner, Dakota gold, is being supported.

I notice Ryan Moore rides Kew gardens in the Leger then Magical in the 5.25 at Leopardstown, do they think they have a chance of beating Alpha Centauri? Seems a hell of a rush if not.

Even Ryan Moore can't turn down the chance of a Group 1 and a nice pay packet.

Got a £50 free bet if I staked £50 with Ladbrokes. £50 win on Lah Ti Dar @ 9/5, the free bet goes on Youdontdodou @11/1 in the Portland.

That's what I mean FM, does he think he has a chance? Around 10's at the mo, surely Alpha Centauri wins this, been extremely impressive.

Probably not but it's a huge race and €70k for finishing second makes it still worth jumping in a helicopter if he can.

Had 2pts on Encrypted at 20s, that's a shame!!

Apart from Kew gardens , poor day yesterday ., L.15 at the Curragh today..
1. - Beautiful Morning - 2-35.
2. - Hit the Bid - 3-05.
3. - Just Wonderful - 3-40.
4. - Anthony van dyke - 4-15.

I think today may finally be the day Growl pays me back, 2.5pt win and 0.5pt rf with Golden Apollo

Rush of blood to the head this morning , Backed 7 in the 3-50 at Ayr !!. inc Growl & Major jumbo ,
biggest bet is on G. force. @ 25-1.

Hugh Taylor followers in clover already today 6/1 and 7/1 - man is unstoppable.

Ice Age and Son of Rest for me in the big race. Both ew 6 places.

Breaking news !! , i got the winner in the first race at Plumpton. :)

Bet365 have pulled me in with the offer of 1/4 odds 8 places in the Cambridgeshire. Topped up on Kynren and added Sharja Bridge and Via Serendipity.

Mathametical sense to back 8 in that case :highly_amused:

Mordin has been a massive market mover. Given good mentions by all the tipsters - Ben Linfoot, Paul Kealy, Frank Hickey all gave it a good word. Gone from 40s to 16s fairly sharpish!

I'm at Chester tomorrow for a friends birthday so was planning to do the majority of my punting there... although I havne't started on Chester yet and I'm 34 pts staked :grumpy:
