Weekend Racing

Still lots of sport to be played this year. Jonny Wilkinson won SPOTY in 2003 so anyone wanting to hedge on a good price on Stokes might look at Owen Farrell.

Surely England have to win the rugby world cup for that, and whilst my egg chasing knowledge is limited I know several people who say there are 2 European teams who have more chance than England and neither of those will get near the All Blacks...

Stokes was still 6/5 for SPOTY with 19 runs to go

1/5 now

Better than any interest rate still.

England winning the Rugby World Cup won't eclipse the Cricket this year, no way.

I Disagree , 2 test's still to go , Massive task for England , Smith gonna be back too for Old Trafford.
If England win the world cup ( rugby ) Could be a popular choice - Farrell - (/Quote).

I'd still be so confident that even if England won the RWC that Stokes had done enough even if they go on to lose The Ashes.

The Rugby World Cup in Japan is just not going to have the same effect as the Cricket World Cup did in this country.

Im not going to steam in at 1/4 ... for something in December, but I think it's throwing money away to back anyone else for the SPOTY.

You could just back England to win the Rugby. My 'egg' is already in the All Blacks camp though .... waiting on a nice 4 figure return if they win it

In hindsight , I think if England go on to win the ashes , then Stokes is nailed on.:).

Some odd prices around in tonights T20 games.
Kent are in freefall and even found a way of losing the other night against Surrey so shouldn’t be favs against Gloucester, Nabi gone is a big loss to Kent.
This is a live game so watch the runs, Canterbury notorious for slowing up especially on worn end of season decks glued together, I’ll be looking to get under 170/175 and hope first inns is a 150/155/160 then get with them to defend.

Surrey shouldn’t be favs against Essex for me, can’t qualify.

Well done Ista - you called it exactly right. Kent blew another win at the business end. Hope you profited from it.

I had a big bet on Kent to qualify for quarters and for the lot but I’ve been opposing them in every chase.
Although they left some grass on last night these decks are generally slow and get slower, only real hope chasing sides have is if it dews up, but I’ve managed to get against Kent in every run chase for a while now so done OK.
Kent now failed to win any of their last 7 games yet can still qualify with a win at Chelmsford tonight, which is staggering...

Don’t be surprised if Sussex don’t put it in tonight, guaranteed a home quarter final game they play Gloucester who need something from the game to guarantee a home tie.
Saw some 2.1 Gloucester earlier which could be value...

I'll be following you in again.

Everton impressed me against Lincoln the other night. Kean and Iwobi look like giving us some much needed pace and goal threat at the top end of the pitch so I'll do the Everton / Gloucester double.

3/3 Ista :very_drunk:.

Had a bigger bet Essex FM, how Kent were 1.90 at Chelmsford against an Essex side flying when they haven’t managed to win any of their last 6 is beyond me.
And once again Kent were lower than 1.50 to chase down when they just can’t chase.

Cheer on Everton for you...

At my local track Chester in the 2.45, I've backed Stivers at 17/4 (3 places) 1/4 the odds with 365

Aquired by Dermort Weld and starting off at Chester just stands out as very bizarre - I can't see any reason at all they'd start off at Chester unless they had very, very strong vibes that he'd take to the track and show up well - otherwise he could have found an opening in Ireland?

I've obviously got no clue about the merit of his G1 form from South America, but this race only has 6 runners and 3 of them (bottom 3 in the market) are behind the top 2 in the market on ratings, and I don't think this horse will need to be that good to finish in the first half of the race...

with a chance that is is WAY better than his mark, and could bolt up at 17/4 (or 5/1 2 places)

I’ve had a dabble on this too.
Read an article about it, although welds record sending them over ain’t brilliant.
At Beverley races today.
Decent bets on
Good birthday 3-1
Sheepscar lad 11-2
Gylo 9-4

I was keen to get with an old flat fav of mine, Oh This is Us, but I wasn’t expecting 7/4 so will swerve...

Darts thrown on all TV races today and like a few rags.

Hay 1.50 Alemagna 15/2 ew
2.25 Sharja Bridge 5/2
3.35 Time to Study 9/1 ew
4.10 Hello Youmzain 6/1 ew

Asc 2.45 Rip Orf 9/2 and Kimifive 20/1 both ew
3.55 Cirque Royal 100/30 ew

Kemp 3.15 Family Fortunes 20/1 ew

Several permed doubles/trebs/trix

Good luck all

Wherever Khaadem finishes in Sprint Cup, Waldpfad should finish in front of him. Waldpfad beat him comfortably at Newbury on easy ground over 6f and is 6lbs better off today yet is over 3x the price of Khaadem????

I've parted with 1.5 pts e/w at 12/1 (4 places) on Waldpfad. 4.10 Haydock

Without the facts to back it up, backing 'foreign' horses pays off more often than not, despite it being the worst kept secret that they're often under-estimated in the market.

Quiet day for me again though (although just about to start looking)...

Elysium Flame (9/1 with PP - 4 places) 1.5 pts ew - 1.50 Haydock

Here Comes When - 3 places with 365 at 5/1 - 1.5 pts e/w - 2.25 Haydock

Reshoun - 7.04/1 with WH - 5 places in the 3.35 at Haydock 1.5 pts e/w
