Weather Watch 2026

Stopped raining for now - I'm about to walk into town for dinner so it will probably come down in sheets now :highly_amused:

Still pissing down. I'm getting very wet

Imagine soft right across the board..
do real drying conditions all week either..

Good to soft they are saying….

yesterday was good to soft, soft in places..
im sure with the rain yesterday the ground hasn’t got better as the going describes ? Lol

1.4mm fell apparently

Incredible that the course missed what was going through. Makes you realise how tough a job the clerks actually have when there's a band of patchy weather like that going through - fair play to them for getting it right (unlike a few years ago!)

The pavements were all dry in the morning so it wasn't too much - will all depend on how much he watered.

It’s snowing pretty heavily here, can’t believe me eyes :glee:

Don't know if we need a new thread or just update the title on this one but I know everyone is desperate (!!) for the latest update on the weather given that we have less than 3 weeks to go.

Like most places it has been very wet since the start of the year with at least some rain on the majority of days - at the weekend I would have thought that the course was likely no better than soft ground.

I have a rain gauge in the garden (about 250m from the course) so will report daily rainfall up till the Festival. We had a very wet night last night so rainfall this week is as follows:

Monday 16th - <1mm
Tuesday 17th - 0mm
Wednesday 18th - 34mm

Maybe Cash out gets people more interested in this?
For me personally my antepost bets are pretty much done now and the ground will be what it will be, although some of the bets I have will be affected by it.
But that’s part of antepost of course.
Same. Although I have 4/5 plays in hcaps still to make. Ground/weather obviously a factor I am considering if runners not versatile.

I was in Oxford yesterday where the rain was biblical but Cheltenham must have missed the worst of this as there was only 4mm.

Monday 16th - <1mm
Tuesday 17th - 0mm
Wednesday 18th - 34mm
Thursday 19th - 0mm
Friday - 4mm
