Triumph Hurdle 2020

Skelton likes to take horses to the festival fresh and I guess the Triumph is a race where experience is not always a prerequisite
 
Although jumping right at a few, Goshen impressed me at Fontwell today. Good flat form and some engine, had to take some of the 25s post race for this.
 
The last couple he practically jumped sideways. Agree there's definitely an engine there but would need to see him again before i commit.
 
Catching up on yesterday, Mick Pastor obviously very disappointing but it’s what the PFN team seemed to expect I think

Its all a plot for the fred winter, JP not worried about spending 100's of thousand on handicappers lol

She won a couple of times on the Flat in France and was bought mainly with next year in mind. She’s big but light framed and will need to mature. We might run her in a Graded hurdle to see what we have and decide then whether to go on with her this season or wait longer.

He won a 1m4f maiden at Maisons-Laffitte for Alain de Royer-Dupre and also ran second in a Listed race. After being gelded he's a bit behind most of the other hurdlers and it will be Christmas or early in the new year before he runs. He was bought with the Triumph Hurdle in mind.
 
Not much being said about Micro Manage ? and price pushed out again with a few,
The comments on Willie's others lean towards Rayapour.
so will add at 33-1.
could get cut slightly if people put 2 and 2 together.

I’d be worried about Micro Manage now. The RP stable tour was very comprehensive and none of the main protagonists were missed off. No mention of Micro Manage at all..

I'm pretty sure he was mentioned in the irish field as had a fracture and hoped to get him back, so either way deffinately not a positive
 
Statistically it’s very possible for the Triumph winner to be able to emerge from a first run or two in Jan/Feb to win the race, so a late start is not a negative for this race.

However I am not sure any late starting Novice Hurdler or Novice Chaser should be seen as a positive for a Festival win at their new discipline in any of the Festival Novice races.

Pentland Hills being a good and recent example. I tend to ignore the race myself and trust the judgement of others on here well enough to have the odd poke at something when the case is made but generally keep my powder dry for the reason you state.

On a slightly different note, does anyone know if JOB has anything of note coming off the flat for this?

His stable tours did not reveal anything although I've not dug any deeper than that. Sometimes it's not always the highest rated flat horse that proves best either and they seem to be more fragile too.
 
A couple to keep an eye on whether this year or the next, brought by Willie and PB Bloodstock today from the Arqana sales, Ganapathi & Gaillard Du Mesnil. Not much other information than that as of yet, but possible Supreme horses if not Triumph this season.

Interesting prospect for juvenile hurdles. He is lightly raced on the Flat, a 10f maiden winner at Newmarket as a two-year-old, and I’d expect him to improve with experience over hurdles. Is not too far off a run.
 
What do you make of the 3yo race at 1307 - Compiegne today Scooby? Garfield running 7/1 at minute?

Collateral form would have Garfield beat by Chaptal today, but obviously being unbeaten he could improve plenty further yet.

Chaptal & Falstaff the two that interest me at the minute.

Sorry, I'm not Scooby, but my thoughts anyway.
