Triumph Hurdle 2019

Blake made a good point on the FFP that with the unfortunate death of horses last year at the festival Cheltenham guidelines say they will have it soft enough to try and limit the fatalities

But it was SOFT ground last year when we had all those fatalities?????????? Tired horses fall.

When will people engage the brain.........

Great point, il listen to that now. Anyone elses work take an absolute battering this time of year? haha

I know it was soft but the overall look at the festival guidelines say don’t have it lighting quick as horses will be breaking legs left right and centre and on the softer side is nicer for them

So what happened last year?????????????

Its always good/soft at least.

There was no single factor behind 2018 fatalities. Let's not deviate too much from this being a Triumph thread.

Having watched the Nicholls stable tour I’m not too confident on Pic D’orhy Coming here, not so much what he was saying to the cameras but when the horse was walking off PN had a little grumble in a 1-2-1 conversation with someone off camera and it didn’t sound too positive to me

Elementary, Mr Fly

But in one breath he says sometimes the up and down of Cheltenham catches horses out the next but it didn’t catch aux ptits soin out I live in hope would be nice to see him turn up

Quel Destin seems overpriced to me, having won previously on the course and with 5 from 6 and a place. I'll take his 6/1 any day over sir erecs evens.

Has anyone a handle on the whole horse situation - what are implications of a mare in the race ?

He said ‘we’ve picked 12 to show you that are going to Cheltenham’

So he could be in the Triumph hurdle then?

PN: "Could be, yeah he could be, because there's nothing else I can run him in"

Is he like Aux Ptits Soins?

PN: "yeah just like Aux Ptits Soins, he gallops like him too, he's a good horse he is. Whether he has experience, its quite hard for a horse having run round Auteuil all the time and have his debut at Cheltenham it just catches up down and round abit. So I don't know we'll see. As you say it didn't do Aux Ptits Soins any harm"

Yeh probably. He is 10/1 NRNB. Fire in. He makes it and will be shorter, he doesn't money back.

Paul is not including Pic in his '12 to show you that are going to Cheltenham' if doesn't plan to send him there. Obviously plans change, its not definitely happening but i'd be 80/20 he lines up on the day (I appreciate my assessment on liklihood means feck all, but just saying I am confident)

Nothing beats Sir Erec in the Triumph Hurdle for @Templegate_tips. Daryll says ‘Adjali did a serious piece of work with me a couple of days ago at Kempton & I would be disappointed if he didn’t at least get in the places

I’d sooner place lay Sir Erec than back him at 6/4. If I’d said that last year re the ‘bombproof’ Apple’s Shakira at 6/5 I’d be sent away to be analysed. Over hyped, over priced and incredibly easy to oppose.

Interesting.

What have you got in your side bar other JOB runners?

Quel Destin and Adjali fundamentally aren't as fast at running around fields than SirErec on their known form?

Pic as much as we like him hasn't run in the UK and there are examples or French form not being replicated.

The only other challengers are in the same yard and won't be heading him after the last for fear of losing their jobs

There was a lot of hype around AShakira. ... she wasn't a graded flat performer... Sir Erec in has career already has shown more than 90% of this field ever will.

Strip back everything and SirErec is the best horse in this race in terms of running fast. He's also adapted to hurdles.

Place lay is bold IMO. You're hoping for a fall. 3 horses in this field cannot finish ahead on merit
