Triumph Hurdle 2019

The race tomorrow certainly looks tougher than the test Apples Shakira had last season IMO. Never Adapt will have to be a serious prospect to overcome this on her UK debut.

Its the best off the rest over here bar adjali and poss a few off the flat. Nichols best is in there and Nick Williams. Cracker factory has decent form and plenty of experiance, But could be the montestral /quel destin formline

Hopefully never adapt has learned to harness a bit of energy. Wouldn't want her pulling Barry's arms out. Could be a bit of a stormy Ireland who will go out at a clip and attempt to make all.

Earlier on the card I ride the Nicky Henderson-trained Never Adapt in the JCB Trial Triumph Hurdle (12:40). Nicky likes her, which is never a bad thing. I’ve schooled her at home and I liked her too. She has won over hurdles in France and while I’m not sure about the quality of what she beat, she was impressive in beating them by a long way. This is always a good race and we’ll have a good idea of where we stand with her after this.

Never Adapt (Barry Geraghty)
She’s a new recruit of JP’s from France who won her only start at Compiegne by 10 lengths on heavy ground when she simply ran away with the jockey! James Bowen rides her every day at home as she can be quite keen in her work but she shows quite a lot of ability and you’d have to be hopeful. We won this race with Apple’s Shakira, who showed absolutely zilch on the gallops, but this filly is different altogether.

I'm excited to see Never Adapt but a word of caution, this ground will be far quicker than anything she's ever seen and whilst she is clearly a classy recruit they race knee deep in France and this will be quick by comparison.
I could be wrong and hope she runs her race...

Good to be cautious Ista, only thing I'd say though is her price tomorrow and for the Triumph are predominantly as a result of her form at home not what she did in France. I would hope therefore that those fuelling the gamble are reasonably confident she'll act on the ground. That said as we all know there's a big difference between doing it at home and on the track. As a backer I'm praying she's not going to be the complete opposite of Apples Shakira in this regard

Real pity that there is just 7 in that race. Too short for me.

If anyone outside the yard or connections. have backed her tomorrow at odds on, they've lost the plot.

I think your right Ista , I'm backing Montestrel tomorrow, But with regards to the festival , Interesting to see
how Never adapt gets on , Going and all.

Gutted as my weekend in work so wont see it. But i know the FJ boys will put it in writing :triumphant:

Obviously hope never adapt wins.
But had a few quid EW on cracker factory with 3 places 1/4 at 7/1 for todays race, he has his chance and he's overpriced in that market for me.

Never Adapt looking weak this morning

From 4-5 out to 2/1 now

Shes mad in the head in on the way to post. Barry cant hold her and had to get off

3/1 now. Big drift. I'm not on but i'll be cheering her on and hoping she does win as she's well backed by many on here

How she stayed on again then I'll never know. Nut case with ability. Youd have to give her a chanve to see if she can settle as shes clearly ability but I'd have no interest in her now though for winning this.

Big form boost for adjali.

Actually went out to 5s on bet365 when they were at the post, so had 0.5U on just in case.

Clearly has some engine being able to stay on like that at the end. Looked like BG got her to settle, takes some big breaths and went again.

Possibly some interest in the Fred Winter if she misbehaves again next time out
