The ULTIMA Handicap Chase

Must have been a recent decision to skip the Festival with Run Wild Fred after all, they’ve only just continued their entries for him in the NHC and the Ultima yesterday morning.:culpability:

Maybe they’ve just found out about the €650 per horse Brexit paperwork, and decided to cut back on entries and runners since then.

It's more likely the ground.
Similar to the other defection who is on a tidy mark Longhouse Poet. I mentioned the National for him cos 142 looked lenient.
Why waste an opportunity if they genuinely believe the horses need it soft ?

explains money coming for Coko in this also.

The Irish National has to be the plan f9r nearly all the Irish staying chasers this season given how close it is, and the crap prize money in Festival Handicaps in comparison.

The Big Dog, Coko Beach, Run Wild Fred, Longhouse Poet etc.

I think Milan Native is spared by Giggy, to run in the Ultima, because he is going to Aintree.

If Coko Beach comes for a Festival handicap it will be a surprise to me now, but it should indicate that they think he can win.

“He won’t run and is going to the Irish National.”

quote from Eddie on coko beach. Leaves little to the imagination you might say :biggrin-new: full article on the ATR site

Nothing to the imagination, but the guy has told lies before.

I'm not saying Coko Beach is going to run, but it is a fact. :biggrin-new:

It's also taken me literally less than 30 seconds to find evidence....

Said Torygraph in their ATR interview :biggrin-new: wouldn’t mind either but I know which id prefer!

What on earth connections have seen in last years Ultima to make them think Cepage should come here rather than the Plate is just baffling.

Better ground might help but hard to see him powering up the hill.

Agree - he wasn’t one I was even thinking about but was just coming here to post that if he runs I will have to consider him. Venetia’s record over fences this season is outstanding, and she has just had another double today!

I read that only Nicholls & Henderson have had more chase winners than her this season (from obviously far more runners) so I think all her runners in handicap chases should at the least warrant a close look.

I fancied him loads last year and reluctantly backed for the Ultima as I thought they surely must know he'll stay....

...and he didn't....

This year I don't want to fall in the same trap..... but the better ground is making me doubt myself.

Oddschecker still not sorted out the Remastered column three weeks later.
If it wins this, people will wonder where it's come from :highly_amused:

Tom Scu is down to ride for Nick Williams in this which might mean Remastered (no jockey at present) is going to go in the NH Chase

Looks that way. DG.
Want it to go this way to be fair, as I'm much better positioned on the other top four or five in the betting for the Ultima.
Not sure I fancy him in the NH chase either.
Probably wrong race for the horse, but right for the jockey.
