The Mares races

Put in a few requests for Lily Du Berlais for the Mares Novice Hurdle, so far Hills have come back with 50s which I'm happy with... just deliberating whether to wait until she has a hurdles entry or not.

A couple of entries at Listowel that may be of interest. Party Central and Jeremy's Jewel both hold an entry at this stage.

Party Central is entered over 2 1/2 miles so is looking like they think she'd a stayer like Queens Brook last year. So maybe that's a hint at not for the MNH atm

One missed off the tracker today... Ally Cay won a novice hurdle readily at Downpatrick (@13/2). She previously beat Molly's Glory over hurdles and that one has previous bumper form with both Grangee & Party Central. Just kept a note of her with respect to those lines.

Interesting snippet re: Silver Forever from Nicholls in Jumpers to Follow suggesting she will stay over hurdles and potentially go down the mares' route:

She missed last season but was one of the leading prospects in last year's edition, she beat Annie Mc in an irish PTP "and although there is the option of going chasing, I suspect that she might reappear over hurdles. She looks more than capable of mixing it at Graded level against her own sex."

Can't see any prices yet unless I am missing her in the markets, will request and keep updated.

I’m disappointed at this news, I had backed her recently for the MNH but if she’s starting at 2m 4f then probably not

Uncanny resemblance to Queen's Brook there for me. Wouldn't be that keen on her anyway, we'll know more presumably at Down Royal back over 2m.

Yh little underwhelmed there myself she travelled well and won without needing the whip, but her jumping was poor all the way round imo. Lost ground at plenty of hurdles and definitely slowed into the last 2. Obviously has a good engine and next time out will tell us a lot more.

Got to be happy with Party Central there. First hurdles run, wouldnt be fully wound up, looked a decent pace, won without DR being hard on her. Step back to 2 miles could help. Nice.

One thing to take from Jumpers to Follow regarding Party Central is that Jamie Codd said ‘She is very quick, so I doubt very much that she will need to be stepped up in trip at any stage’.

Now obviously she has already stepped up in trip but that maybe just down the the lack of an available novice mares race around this time, at the type of track that Gordon wants to go to. Maybe a step back in trip will help improve her jumping and use this ‘speed’ that Jamie says she has

Nail on head me thinks WTL.

She'll be stepping back in trip as Gordon says 2 1/2 m mares hurdle at Down Royal next time
EDIT - balls'ed that up, meant to say 2 m 1/2 f :ambivalence:

Party Central cut to 16/1 with Unibet

Just realized she won the same race today as Telmesomethinggirl did last year before going on to win the Novice Mares Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Topped up on Magic Daze (25's ) for the Mares Chase before today's run. 2 1/2 miles ,Left handed, Good ground with tricky fences is as good a trial as you could wish.
Also couldn't resist a related Ew double with Gin On Lime in the Arkle (66/1)

you think its more likely Magic Daze would be mares chase and Gin on Lime arkle Lobos or are you just covering both angles?

Magic Daze drifting a little, now into second favourite today behind Robinnia
