The JACK RICHARDS NOVICES LIMITED Handicap Chase

Right on cue, Alan King comes out and tells us he is going "Somewhere else"

Is this is somewhere else or is he not bothering with Cheltenham.

His comments may have been referring to El Perfecto and not Masaccio so hold those thoughts.

What an absolute gaggle of bone heads

I thought I was well-clever backing him :indecisiveness::boxing:

Ah well, money back feels like a win this deep into the season :eagerness:

Increases the chances of Jagwar winning the race so I'm happy!

Just wondering if Asian Master qualifies for this? I know he's only had 2 chase runs this season but I've noticed he ran in a hunters chase at Tipp in May 2023, does this count towards his 3 runs?

RP are showing it as 3 chase starts under rules, so yeah, I can't see why this wouldn't count. Maybe someone on here will know for sure, but I would say it counts.

Forgot this race existed !
I'm surprised no-one has picked up on Gavin's video stable tour (not sure who it was for) when asked which one he liked the most he pointed to the horse he was holding, Thecompanysergeant.
Was 16s at the time and still 14s now, has other entries but he did name check this race for him so you have to assume this is Plan A....

Chufted with 143 for this for him.Decent support today too.

Just wondering if Costello would be able to make the weight if Springwell Bay or Croke Park run?

….Pic Roc;

He is a horse that I am very sweet on I think he was my standout from this morning’s work. I feel that we are just getting him where we want him. He fell at Carlisle and had to have six weeks off and wasn’t fit at Exeter. I still think he will improve for that run, and he is bucking and kicking, and he is in the two and a half mile novices’ handicap and the National Hunt Challenge Cup Novices’ Handicap. I think he will go over two and a half unless we got a lot of fine weather, and it dried out. He is a horse who hasn’t won over fences, but he took a while to win over hurdles as well and then was second in the EBF Final after winning at Ascot. I am very sweet on him. (Ben Pauling)

Not so sure he goes here now, In his WH blog today Gavin said it was a deep race and he was considering the Plate . Hopefully he does run in the JR novice tho

Yes, he seems to have gone back on what he said in that interview, that's the danger with a new race you never know how strong it'll be.
Wherever he lands I think I'll need to have a small cover, he did sound bullish...

Yes 100% agree and it does appear to be a little stacked however Crebilly will be a tough nut to crack in the Plate. I quite like Gemirande also.

….Elliott;

’I’d say Dee Capo and Firefox will run here. They’re both graded horses in their own right and I think Firefox could have a big chance in this race. Dee Capo might lack a bit of experience, but was very good at Leopardstown and isn’t a bad horse on his day. I think this is a good trip for both of them.’

Now that's it's confirmed Firefox is coming here, he's absolutely thrown in off 150 isn't he? It was somewhat crabbed at the time but the form of the Drinmore run is looking pretty good.

Confirmed? When was this …likely for sure but wasn’t aware it was confirmed

Have you heard if they are planning to put a claimer on Firefox?
