The Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle

You would imagine you would have time to assess likely runners and cashout some stake if you felt the risk was too high (provided you have cashout)

Seems people are happy with the 129 for GW according to the markets.

Didn't realise Gaelic Warrior was as low as 6s for this now. :concern:

If he didn't get in for being too low, you'd get your money back anyway.

Joke of a price. Absolute nightmare of a race to find the winner on the day never mind this far out. Would like to be on at bigger prices saying all that

You can argue he's a silly price without knowing the opposition... however if you know the horse, the form, and the future form from the Prix Georges de Talhouet Roy and the Cambaceres, then you'll know he has a very serious chance. .

The only thing you would say, is that he has no better chance now, than he did when he was 25s.. when it was very clear then, that he has a big chance.. so obviously it wouldn't be the wisest move in backing now.

And if its hard this far out... then look back in 2023 ... from 14 months out... and see how far off I am with "JAMESTOWN"

:highly_amused:

That'll be in a Sky RAB before the end of the month

*everyone scrambling for the notebook and pen

Elliott?

Complete stab in the dark by an amateur if you ask me :highly_amused:
Ten a penny these juveniles.
Ask Kotkijet as he's the expert.

No idea how GW got that mark, the handicapper must have just guessed.

They don't do themselves... one to blame the French handicapper for, as they take as given, and gave him +2 on top.

So you're saying the UK handicapper hasn't rated him and simply gone off the French handicap +2 ?

Makes no odds really as he looks really well in based on the subsequent form.
I ignored the gamble partly cos I thought he'd get higher and also because I'm leaving the race for antepost this season.

I'd have backed it in the triumph if it turned up first time .
So anyone on at the bigger prices has a good bet, for a handicap.

That’s him blown. He’s been on my list for a while and was waiting until at least next summer to add him. I’ll copy what I wrote to you in DM seeing as you’ve let the cat out the bag.

I’ve had him tracked since Inneston, his older full brother won. That form then got boosted when Irish Point went and won the graded race. Irish Point now with Robcour but not sure of the trainer. Jamestown is a half brother to Delta Work too but I prefer the Doctor to sire early 3yos.

He was bought by the Browns and will no doubt end up with Gordon. Could stay in France like Fil Dor did though to gain experience there.

If any of you lot know Andy Brown, can you ask him if Fancy Foundations is going to run in the plate.

I like him for the plate though i noticed a number of folks choosing him for the KM in the tipping comp... personally can’t see him staying 3m 2. I’m pretty sure I remember Gordon saying they were putting him away as he would be avoiding winter ground...hoping that’s the case :welcoming:
