Supreme Novices 2018

I'll be splitting my stakes between Red Jack and Mengli Khan for the time being. I've played Antey, Winter Soldier, Reel Steel in a few multis, but can't get as excited about them as Annamix. Going to stick with those with tried and tested form at the moment until the picture becomes a bit clearer.

Yes it's going to be hugely informative. I am unsure about Sayar. I just hope that Stratum genuinely is one of Willie's better novices. In which case he might not have much to trouble MK.

Think the main dangers will come from elsewhere. I'm not overly keen on Red Jack either and think Joseph's will be the main competition.

Hard to tell. The first real test for them all. It's alright going 15 lengths clear on the bridle in a maiden but you learn very little..

Just seen the Annamix news...gutted, I blame myself for racketing on about the extent to which the chances of injury are included in the AP price. I was hoping for a reverse jinx....honest! Anyway it's the nature of the AP game onwards and upwards :)

Guys, any thoughts on Makitorix? Not going in yet, but more PP & BFSB cut him, but left horses like Sayar untouched. Usually an early season Mullins runner is a no go for me, but interestingly the horse hasn't been out since his hurdles debut. He was very impressive and on literal form and on a line through Big Ben he has Sayar covered. Do just wanted your opinions really?

No valid opinion other than he was floating around at 200.0 plus before the mullins tour. Plenty of graded races coming up. I'd also be suprise d if his best novice has been out already

Just been looking at what PP have done following the Annamix news, and noticed the cut of this one too. Could be telling.

But I think it's just impossible to be overly confident when you have so many horses winning maidens easily, as Scooby said before. On a line through Morgan, you'd say Mengli Khan probably has those with form covered, but that only tells half the story, as the likes of Makitorix is full of untapped potential.

Think it's complete shot in the dark stuff picking any of the WPM horses at this stage TBH. Unless you have some decent inside info. I'm leaving them all alone for now as I just think is complete guesswork.

They cut Sayar from 20/1 to 12/1 whilst On The Line was on?

Thanks guys, took some of the small amounts on the exchanges, but no more multi's as that is where I got hit the most from Annamix.

Ah OK, wasn't showing blue on Oddschecker when I looked so thought that may have happened earlier in the day as they are usually in the know.

Anyone heard or read anything regarding Pym? He was always my pick for this race regardless of the Annamix hype but I've not seen anything about him recently and no entries either.....

Taken time to come to hand, won't be out yet as needs more schooling. Was on his unibet blog.

I hope he's out before Christmas or the stats will be against him.

Just watched back about 20 video replays of what we've seen so far, my findings and opinions are that Mengli Khan has probably been the most impressive at a decent level, not including Samcro of course as hoping he goes Ballymore route. Sayar was OK, but that's it for me, can't get excited. Red Jack looks in need of further or may have just needed that run. Makitorix, as I noted previously had the best turn of foot but it was only a lowly maiden so can't take that form too literally just yet. Sharjah & Slate House have both looked in need of a trip and that applies to quite a few for me. 'IF' I now had it all to do again, without Annamix of course, on form I'd go Mengli Khan, of which I have actually backed anyway, and Makitorix
Plenty of unraced horses still to come out, but I'd want to be seeing them before Christmas for me to want to get involved at all in them.

I haven't backed Sharjah for this, nor do I intend to anytime soon, but I'd be interested in hearing why people think he ran like he wanted a trip. Fair enough he settled well, so its entirely likely he would get further, but the race was ran at an absolute crawl and to me it looked like he was simply too quick for them in a sprint finish. I'd be interested in seeing the sectionals to back it up if anyone has the data to hand, but to my eye there was nothing that suggested he was more stamina than speed.

I don't think he needs a trio I think he's open to going up in trip as mullins quoted after the race and ricci has better for 2 miles sat in there box.

*" i thought Paul (Townend) was very good technically and tactically on both horses (Carter McKay also) and it was a good performance from him (Sharjah). Obviously nobody wanted to make the running but Paul certainly didn't want to and thought he could use his speed to beat them. It worked out well and he got the jump at the last when he needed it. He'll have no trouble going further and we'll take those novice races as they come and see where he fits in"

Relatively unscathed.
3pts lost in Free Bets, 1pt of cash and one leg lost of an EW Lucky 15.
Like Kev (and many others) Cause of Causes would make the biggest dent

On a line through Debuchet you'd say Red Jack has them all covered. Well, what we've seen so far. Bring on the Royal Bond.

Pocket talking maybe here, but i'd be surprised if Ricci has a couple better than Sharjah sat at home yet to come out. His French flat form is really smart, so it's taking a real punt to say that anything unraced will prove to be better

World Premier is actually my biggest winner now in this race. Has two entries in the coming days, in races that look hot, so hoping he gets out and puts in a performance

Winter soldier would be the (ricci) one I will put forward with high expectations From what I heard last season and have read in his stable tour this season. Always one he mentions with a little more enthusiasm.

Antey could be anything
Francin is a pacey sort

Besides sharjah
Rightly or wrongly I'd rule it the rest of riccis string for 2 miles.
