Supreme Novice Hurdle 2019

I wouldn’t of cashed out nice double at the prices who cares about the treble! Trebles a bonus e/w also def not

I actually got double for the cash out than I would have done for Laurina and Santini both placing... thats why I took it. I dont really see Laurina winning tbh.

Not a fan of cash out just gives the bookies another edge if I’m on at decent prices and let it ride anything can happen malone road envoi Allen apparently not going so don’t really know the players as usual in the bumper and if buveur was to get injured could be sitting on the fav at 14/1

I never cash out normally, and totally agree its in the bookies favour...but for antepost its completely different for me. Its easy to go off horses months later and if I hadnt had the facility this year, my position would be looking much worse.

I have plenty on Laurina in singles at 14/1 still.

Cash out isn't just and edge for the bookies. Anytime you have more choice and options gives the punter the edge also.
You'll just win some and lose some as you learn to use the facility.
The edge the bookie has is they can take it off you pretty much whenever they like, especially if you get good (profitable) at it.
But I understand that some would not want the carrot offered, but in this case it's how you cope with the psychological aspect.

One really simple tactic with cash out I use quite a bit and I'm sure many others do the same.
If you want to place a life changing yankee with B365,
ALWAYS split the bet into doubles, trebles and a fourtimer.
This makes three bets, all of which will offer cash out options, after each race has been run.
Can't remember many time's when that didn;t work out for me, and I don't use betfair to lay them either.

"We entered Angels Breath at Ascot on Saturday as well, but we only put him in to try and scare them away in that race for Downtown Getaway and Before Midnight - who will both probably run."

Learning a few things from mullins.

Can you imagine the outcry if it was actually Mullins that flipped AB and Mr.Fisher about?

As far as i’m concerned cash out used wisely is a massive benefit to the antepost punter. Earlier in the season when you could cash out in running during a horse’s debut run normally for at least 95% of your stake back was a huge rick. Even now that they seem to have closed this loophole if you back a horse that runs like an absolute shower on debut you can get around 50% of your stake back after the race.

And that’s not even including the fact that you can cash out if you get wind of a horse being injured before they do. Struggle to see the downside

We will only see the downside if a cashed out horse wins. :disgust:

Absolutely no issue for me at all. I’m cashing out as the info I have to make a judgement has changed. If the horse runs well again you can back him again anyway.

I recall BillyMag referring to it earlier in the season as a licence to print money, a little hyperbolic perhaps but I wouldn’t disagree too much with this statement

Yep, with the right mentality having cashed a bet that goes on to win, it shouldn't be too hard to rationale in your own mind. We kind of do it all the time anyway.
There'll be a lot more horses you've backed where you leave the bet to run, that lose.
And others you wished you'd backed that win.
We cope with that on a daily basis.

I cashed out Mohaayed on the morning of the County last year, after having backed it in early Feb. Trainer had poo pooed the ground and the stable No1 jockey rode another horse, and Bridget Andrews was riding. Thought it had little to no chance so cashed.
Now. I regret that as I think I was just being too clever, as I was already in profit for the festival and it was only 2pts each way, so could well have afforded to leave it.
But I could cash out and re back at the same price 33's but for extra places.
So I did, but when I reassessed the race and the points above I placed a bet on another horse instead.
You gotta shrug it off.
It was probably still the right call. Sounds daft but still.

Funnily enough Mohayyed was also my biggest regret of the Festival for different reasons. I backed him the year before after Hugh Taylor put him up as a 2 pointer. I'm a big HT fan and while he'll be the first to say NH is not his speciality I'll always back his 2 pointers. I'd recalled he'd put up Next Sensation for the Grand Annual as a 2 pointer (backed him) only for him to lose and then win at the bigger price the following season (didn't back him) and was determined not to make the same mistake again. I'd said I was backing Mohayyed for months was also in a great position by the Friday but as the ground supposedly went against him I didn't back him. I know you are somebody who thinks the ground factor is over rated, so surprised you also didn't make the bet for this reason...haha

Yep, reinforced my opinion that for sure, trainers commenting/excuses on the ground does my head in.
It was the jockey mainly, to be fair, and I was probably wrong with that also, cos she's clearly more than capable. And a nice lass too:heart-borken:

I did the very same thing with Mohaayed :sorrow: I now realise that BA is indeed HS fiancee and can see the possible plot to give her a winner. Its not easy to get a County winner, especially @33s so the Trainer negative talk pre race, jockey change, really infuriated me.
Hohum

I had a nightmare on Mohaayed, as a pal who is like a soothsayer on the County text me as I went into a meeting that he'd cracked it and it was Mohaayed. But I didn't think it was a great look in a meeting I was presenting in to crack out the phone and bet. I came out 90 minutes later to a load of texts from him telling me he was in the pub with a grand cash in his pocket

Had a few quid on muratello tomorrow at 19.75/1 boosted.
Mister fisher should be home and hosed. But he's interesting none the less. Trading very short in running in the void race. And came from maccaire unexposed before that.

Made over a grand on Mohayyed myself had him e/w single and in a lucky 15 with coo star sivola in running it was 66/1
I think I’ve cashed out 4 times don’t think il ever do it again unless it’s for life changing money just not worth it IMO

Thanks for that Archie. Would obviously explain a few things
