It wouldn’t be the worst idea ever given what they did with More Of That. Champ actually has more experience than More Of That did the year he went on to win the Stayers.

More of that wasn't a novice though.
Id have thought, He'd be too keen to run over 3m at this stage of his career even in novice company

In terms of experience he was a novice still. More Of That won the stayers on his fifth start whereas Champ has already had six. It’s unlikely to happen but like I said, it’s not the worst idea ever, especially if they are going chasing next year anyway.

Anyone think Champ will end up here? Its a division that looks extremely light and JP has plenty of novices to throw at the ballymore. Might be one that heads to cheltenham new years day

Like the out of the box thinking, is the price big enough to have a flyer?

If you had to make a shortlist of 3 horses for this race, only including horses that have had a run this season,

Mine would be:

Thistlecrack - :devilish: Can only be off the shortlist if you think there is NO CHANCE he'd run, therefore he does make it on to my shortlist. He's 25/1 which ius a stupid price for any previouis C&D Festival winner if they lined up. The problem is, that is a big IF. However, he;s a clear candidate to be on any shortlist in my opinion (as it doesn't mean you have to back them!)
Supasundae - Admirable horse, love the fact he's won a Coral Cup and couldn't rule him out on Spring Ground in a Stayers. Didn't pull up any tree's today first time out, but placed and will go onwards and upwards from that run.
Kilbricken Storm/BAracys - Cheating a bit...if either reverted to hurdles I'd be intersted I think... struggling for a 3rd pick as I can't fancy Unowhatimeanharry and therefore Sam Spinner and Wholestone have nooo chance.

Probaly is. Think it will just depend on what else JP might have for the ballymore. I'd expect to see the likes of Rhinestone running within the next couple of weeks. If something else in the green and gold goes and wins handsomely, then there's a fair chance of Champ coming here imo

Other than being a novice my biggest worry for champ would be how keen he was at the weekend, if he ran like that in a stayers he wouldn't stay imo.

Added 33-1 Cracking Smart now he stays hurdling.

Where’s this news from Innoko? I’m on him any race and was looking forward to seeing him jump a fence. If hurdling is the plan though I’ll be topping on this race

Cracking Smart, who was a leading fancy for the Albert Bartlett last season before injury intervened, is in the top six at the summit of the RSA Chase market at 20-1 but Elliott has decided to keep him over hurdles.

"Cracking Smart has an operation for kissing spines and that all seems to be sorted now," he said.

"He's a very good horse and, given the fact so much of the season has gone, we might as well keep him over hurdles now. He's a proper horse."

Stumbled upon it by chance on the RP app...

Cheers Innoko. Big player in this race then. I've added him at 33/1 too

Hadnt seen this at all!

Totally agree... 33/1 an absolute no brainer. I suppose with the amount of staying chasers they have, it does make sense. All of a sudden this race has gone from being Penhill's to lose to potentially having Samcro and CS in it.

I don’t see them sending both Cracking Smart and Samcro here, makes me feel better about my samcro CH bets.

Will certainly look to get CS in the book pre-debut

Thanks Innoko. Taken the 33/1:encouragement:

Cheers for this info I've cashed out my bet on him for the RSA and reinvested it into this.

Looks like they were pretty happy with delta work in the drinmore.
