20s without the NRNB with betfair but I'm restricted and probably wouldn't have taken the risk anyway

I'm a huge Cracking Smart fan and find it interesting he got his Stayers entry this week. I was thoroughly disappointed with his comeback and expected more sparkle, but as someone rightly mentioned, Gordon has clearly left plenty of work on.


If you look at the shape of the market, and with AJ off to Mares and Delta clear RSA hope, I wouldn't be surprised if CS is clear Stayers pick for Gordon come Cheltenham.

I also believe that with Next Destination out for the season, we'll be getting juicer prices about CS as his strong form last year will no longer be as widely advertised!!!

Needless to say I've jumped on the 40/1 with Bet365. Only Penhill to beat then

40/1 NRNB is a whopping price despite the pretty poor first run this season.

Had 2 points 16s NRNB and 0.5 points at 20s with BFSB, always like to have a tickle at the bigger price

Nice early shout on Black Op scoob, he's definitely a player at a nice price, his jumping (even over the small obstacles) last year put me off having a single on the JLT, I can see him not being fluent around HQ again in March & the longer trip may not punish him as much it would do over a shorter trip but its enough to put me off!

Colin Tizzard will put the chasing career of Kilbricken Storm on hold to prepare him for a tilt at the Sun Racing Stayers' Hurdle.

Last season's Albert Bartlett winner will be given a prep run back over hurdles before a shot at the Grade One prize at the Cheltenham Festival. After making a winning start over fences at Ffos Las, the eight-year-old failed to follow it up when beating only one home in a Grade Two contest at Newbury last month.
Tizzard said: "Kilbricken Storm is going to go back down the Stayers' Hurdle route. He was not quite right after his last run over fences. He will have one more run, then go for the Stayers' Hurdle."
Kilbricken Storm's outstanding form over the smaller obstacles was a revelation last season.
Tizzard added: "The owners are not very keen to continue over fences, and they are quite keen to have a go at the Stayers' Hurdle. When we bought him his point-to-point form was only moderate, but he was a very good hurdler last season. He was very good at the Cheltenham Festival last season, and it is becoming more fashionable to swap horses round."

I've backed Bachasson, Cracking Smart, Kilbricken Storm all over 40's. Penhill 8/1.

I've only played the Mullins pair, Penhill & Faugheen, for this so far.

Not interested in KS unless it comes up soft/heavy minimum, think he'll get done for pace by this lot, he is stamina laden, hence the confidence for the 4 miler for me, he will lack the pace that Penhill/Faugheen (if on song) bring to the table.

Cracking Smart is of interest, though not yet got involved in him, would like to see his next entry first, and the other would be Black Op, who I think will be helped quite a fair bit by the step up in trip.

I see he is only rated 147 after that last victory, he could slip into the Coral Cup with that rating, a race I would fancy him in.

Assume you all got pretty big prices on him.

Edit: And could of course revert back to chasing over shorter, possible Ryanair tilt, despite owners having UDS, who likely has his better days behind him now.

I'd be more interested in the coral cup too. The intermediate trip is his optimum.

KS - won the potato race on awful ground. Got to do it in open company on likely better ground. Will need to improve

Black Op - Decent novice. Awful over fences this season. Needs to improve for the step up in trip.

Cracking Smart - My bet for this at 33s. But he still hasn’t run in open company asides from his run last time. Though that was clearly a lack of race fitness and he will improve for that. Will need to improve on his novice runs though.

Penhill - Top class. The long break for him isn’t an issue. Goes well fresh. The one to beat.

Faugheen - I’ll be on him NRNB for sure. Think this will suit him round Cheltenham these days. Beat Penhill at the end of last season although the race went perfectly for him. Top class.

Paisley Park - Doing a Sam spinner for last year. Looked good this season. Improving. Fair e/w shout.

Supasundae - Champion Hurdle is expected target for him. Would he stay a proper 3m stayers race (not the farcical of last seasons contest)?

Bachasson - Has tons to find.

I'm interested that you are taking digs at Supasundae's ability to stay a truly run 3m based on last year, but have Penhill as the top class one to beat (form from farcical race)?

Jessie has said CH all the way for Supasundae hasn't she? With BD getting turned over, I'd be surprised if she doesn't fancy a crack at the big one myself.
