Stayers Hurdle 2018

I also think Yanworth comes here- they know deep down he hasn’t really took to chasing and their line through SupSundae has got them excited.

Unless Apples Jade defected here from
The Mares (which is personally like to see but don’t think will happen)

Hope so, pot up 25,000 to 325,000 this year as well. JLT & RSA up 25,000 as well but 150,000 and 175,000 respectively.

You'd think he has a good of chance in the Stayers than the two Novice chases, given the opposition. JP will be in a battle for total prize money with Giggi and he'll be counting every penny!
He has the form over Supersundae. 12/1 is fair given the question marks of where he'll go. 8/1 NRNB seems pretty big as well, if he shows up he'd surely go off very close to Sam Spinner. Its almost as open as 2015 when Saphir went off 5/1 fav!
Sam Spinner is a deserved fav but has yet to do it at the festival.

Surely wont happen but 365 cut Faugheen from 16s to 5s today That would really throw a spanner in the works.

I'd be suprised if yanworth dosent go for the rsa. It looks a far weaker race than the stayers. Which with all the horses defecting looks a seriously strong race now to me. Yanworth could run a good race and still come 4th 5th.

He'd have to run an awful one to be outside the top 3 in the rsa imo.

Well he hasn't convinced yet over Fences. He can't afford to make the mistakes he's made so far. His hurdle form can't be forgotten about and 3 miles at Cheltenham looks like it will suit him down to the ground this year. He did go off 2/1 for the Champion Hurdle last year.

He made a few novicey mistakes on his 1st couple of starts. He gave them a bit too much air over shorter last time against decent opposition but he diddnt blunder 1 and won with authority. He just needs to learn how to pop a fence and go from a to b a bit quicker. It all comes with experience, Which is ofcourse why they have employed yogi breisner.
I'd personally give him a far greater chance of winning the rsa than this year's renewal of the stayers. But obviously each to there own opinion :)

Yanworth won't beat FW :devilish:

If you KNEW Yanworth was coming here ... would you have him shorter than Supasundae on last season's Aintree run?

Is that run, after Cheltenham, having spent a season jumping fences, stronger than Supasundae's much more conventional and progressive, arguably impressive season where he was the 'moral winner' giving weight to Apple's jade?

.......

I've just seen an interview with Willie Mullins confirming Bacardys is going back hurdling... as he is still a maiden over fences.

Anyone fancy him here?

I actually think next season I will be super-keen on him for the RSA... after Cheltenham they;ll surely put loads of attention on his schooling at home and with the extra year he'll be at quite an advantage potentially? Although I'm sure the market won't miss it!

I have to confess I’ve backed him at 20s based on value against Finian’s Oscar price/form and that it’s such an open race. I can’t have him being anywhere near 20s on the day. I’m not convinced he’s a Stayers winner in waiting but for me this one is just about a decent speculative punt at a nice price on a horse with loads of talent and a trainer who knows the time of day.

I've backed Bacardys for this race by default, as I went any race on him. I don't have a strong opinion on this race at all, but I'm keen to take on the front of the market.

Is there any update on Sutton Place Scoob?

Good performance there for la bague au roi she's not without a chance with her mares allowance.

nice performance LBAR. Not a festival horse for me.

I think the price they've got her at is pretty fair... 20/1 now NRNB.

The Dutchman stayed on well, winning over fences but Sam Spinner beat him well when they met.

The New One confirmed as heading here by NTD

He was.
I'd personally worry about him jumping out to the right markedly when up in trip over a slower pace. He's done it many times it's still an issue at pace buy he dosent have as much time to think when he's fired over 1 at pace. But Deffinately over 3 I see that being an issue. And part of the reason he weakens in the Aintree hurdle.
