Stayers Hurdle 2018

There way I see it, the festival is 28 races. I have enough horses and fancies over the 4 days to get incredible snouts of risk and reward to be hugely entertained.

This race isn't one of them, as my main fancy isn't now runnong.... So ill enjoying trying to best SP, creating a book and ill invest those smaller profits in to races and horses I do feel strongly about.

We all know I lost 10 pts at 16/1 on Finians Oscar for the Arkle. Those 10 pts I'll have back of any from the list above win .... It's a long week so I'll back accordingly. Every race doesn't need to be make or break.

Backing 19 Horses in one race is quite some going, I wouldn't be backing too many more than that over the whole festival however if its a system which brings you enjoyment and profit then whats not to like!

I'll accept bitcoins for tips? :p

Covered Supasundae VF, he's just not one of my best 4 results :encouragement: - I don't fancy Barters Hill particularly or UNWIMH anymore but they're two of the best at this stage

I'd only made between 2 and 8 pts profit depending on non runners (plus any each way returns but I don't count those)

**It isn't that clear above in the post above, but I have a profit if any of these win:
Sam Spinner,
Supasundae,
UNWIMH,
The New One,
Yanworth, NRNB
Finian's Oscar, (NRNB and any race bets)
The World's End,
Beer Goggles,
Bacardys, (Any race)
Lil Rockerfeller,
Tin Soldier,
Robin Roe,
Cilaos Emery,
Vroum Vroum Mag
Sutton Place
Presenting Percy

a small loss if it is won by

Wholestone,
L'ami Serge
Apple's Jade

a big loss if
Penhill,
Thomas Campbell
Let's Dance
Colin's Sister
Jezki
Cole Harden,
Bapaume
Augusta Kate
Any other horse....

So Penhill and Wholestone the only two I'm really concerned about at this stage.

I can't imagine me getting a strong opinion in the race now, having been wrong initially - some won't be a fan of my position here but all comments are welcome :devilish:

Just had a full on debate with my mate about my position in this race. He's said its pathetic and I've got no opinion on racing and shouldn't be allowed to bet - he'd rather lose or stick his money in an ISA. Fair points? :highly_amused:

Whatever float's yer Boat Kev, I say . Like you my main bets were with Nichols Canyon . some on U.n.w.i.m.h but wasn't convinced
from early on , so most of my hopes are really on Supasundae now, plus a couple of
small ones on penhill ,l'ami and sam spinner.

Would like to see Sam spinner running in the Cleeve, as unlikely as that looks. If u could be sure he handles Cheltenham, I'd fancy him strongly. He certainly wasn't stopping in the long walk

The no Cheltenham experience is a big factor. The problem you'd have is that if he won the Cleeve he'd shorten a great deal... like thistlecrack did ...

You're going to a bit of a price to find out this way I guess

Perhaps a spot of value then at 20s considering the Finian’s Oscar formline who is a best priced 12/1 - or do we think FO is simply underpriced? Wouldn’t say there’s any reason to suggest FO would be a vastly superior 3m hurdler to Bacardys, both had a troubled prep but clearly very talented.

20/1 seems alright as he 'outstayed' Finian's Oscar when they met... if it was just between those two...

A situation where if I fancied FO, I'd have to back Bacardys at a bigger price

I have backed both anyway as mentioned a few pagers back, but I am coming at this race in a different way.

Neither strike me as the winner.

"He will go straight to Cheltenham, but I don't know what race for," King said."He definitely won't run beforehand and we will keep him fresh and he will either go for the RSA Chase or the Stayers' Hurdle.

"He is in very good form and has just been doing the odd canter and is ticking away. The Stayers' Hurdle is worth fortunes this year and his form with Supasundae puts him right in the mix, so we will have to see what they want to do.

No prep for the RSA (Reynoldstown) tells me Yanworth goes for the Stayers.

I also think Yanworth comes here- they know deep down he hasn’t really took to chasing and their line through SupSundae has got them excited.

Unless Apples Jade defected here from
The Mares (which is personally like to see but don’t think will happen)
