Sky Bets

Surprised at a Patent over a Trixie if it's a free bet HF? Especially if it's e/w

Pretty much regretted it as soon as I did it, but sums up my indecision on the three.

I want all three inside but have nagging doubts so ended up playing it very safe. Some return better than none is how I’m justifying it.

I’ll end up with a couple of units on Kateson when it’s clearer where he goes, I kind of fancy him as an AB horse as he hits the ‘raced A lot’ trend

Just spotted this up on site now , very appealing . Apologies if this has been asked and covered early in this thread but to request these bets do you have to go via twitter or can you speak online/email to request them to?

Either. I often request and they’re pretty fair on it.

I requested and have added

Min to win the Ryanair
Penhill to win the Stayers
Willie Mullins to train the winner of Mares Novice Hurdle

180/1 - had 1.5pts on.

Pleased and slightly surprised by those odds.
Best price double on Min & Penhill double is 49/1 which would leave Mullins to train the winner of the Mares novice at 5/2 and considering his 3 winners had SP's of 4/7, 11/8, 8/11 - more than happy with that as I am a big fan of the other 2 already and it'll take a special horse to make me look outside of the Mullins yard for the last leg when he has Chante Niege, Colreevy, Salsaretta, Relegate* to go to war with.

Would personally expect odds of around

Min 9/4Fav
Penhill 7/2 2ndFav
[Mullins most fancied] 11/8Fav

come the day for the three (33/1) and have no doubt they'd go elsewhere

I think it's a very fair price and I'm tempted for a silly fiver but, if the first double is 49/1, it makes the Mullins Mares Novice price a little better than 5/2 doesn't it? If anyone can get a special of 3/1 or better for Mullins in the Mares Novice.......

One of the better request-a-bets I've seen.

Already a fan of Min (although I don't think his current price is value)
Penhill I think is a good price still all things considered.
It's hard to imagine Mullins not having a favourite, and if he doesn't have a short priced one, he's got so many darts that you'll be getting a better 'dutched' price on his runners than I imagine you would on the day anyway?

Mullins was 5/2 to win the first ever running of the mares novice hurdle. I'd imagine the bookies would price it up as 8/11 given his strength in depth and record in the race.

Correct at 5/2. Not sure how I got the 7/2 there! Post updated

200/1 for Santini to win the RSA & next years’ Ladbroke and Gold Cup. If like me you are a Santini believer, it’s got to be worth a few quid for him to follow a tried & tested Hendo route.

I really like Santini , Morley street . And it's your choice , But have to say that would be a huge ask i.m.opinion.

That is a brilliant price. I'm in.

Can't knock a 200/1 punt!

That was me that requested and was about to post it up. It's absolutely a punt but I was expecting 100/1 back.

I wouldn't personally say it's the 'tried and tested' route for Henderson. He of course sent Bob's Worth for the three races but has used the King George for the likes of Might Bite and Long Run inbetween the RSA and Gold Cup. Doeds anyone recall a specific reason why he favoured the Hennessy for Bobs Worth? I assume it was primarily as Long Run was then his regular King George horse and Bobs Worth dissapointed at the track in the Feltham a year before?

But that said Santini really does strike me as a horse who could carry a big/top weight in the Ladbrokes Trohpy and has similarities to the likes of both Denman and Bobs Worth. Having 2 good wins at the track already is also a bonus so for me certainly worth a flyer at 200/1

Should imagine it’s a number of factors but weight is likely
I think long run was 182
Might bite 162 and quirky
Bobs worth 160
Trabolgan was 150 something

Nice one Jono, great shout and great price. I think you’re right re the course form and I guess I meant that it’s a natural consideration for Hendo to be aiming his RSA beast at the following season. I also think that Altior will be his King George horse next year.

The year Bob's Worth did the Hennessy / Gold Cup double he was best price 25/1. Using that price as a guide, I'd say this Santini special is on the big side given his current price for the RSA.

Thanks for putting it up Jono. Highly unlikely to land but I still think it's a cracking long term bet.

Not sure how long it's been there but Sky have the Laurina/Buveur D'Air/Altior all to win any race at 8/1.
With Altior and BD odds on for their targets it makes Laurina around 9/4 to win, Sky currently have her 7/4 (any race).
I know the subject has been debated to death but I still believe Laurina will end up in the Mares and should this be the case I expect she'll be plenty shorter than 9/4, 8/1 for the three looks OK to me...

I'd prefer it with Apple's Jade in :devilish:

If you think she will go for the mares, you will get a better price with cash out doing the treble on bet365

It's also 16.5/1 for the same treble with Betfair.... and there is no point backing it "any race" as they'd be in the same race...
