I'd be quite strongly against Facile Vega so can only give it 3 stars!

I'll be sticking with the one that I suggested previously with Mister Policeman replacing him.

I’m all over Mister policeman in my own betting and haven’t a bean on FV for what it’s worth. But facile seemed popular here and MP didn’t get a single mention so couldn’t really go in the Yankee.

Didn’t realise that, Mister Policeman has been discussed endlessly on other threads and is probably in the books of every FJ already, he has to go in a yankee before the market adjustments after stable tours/debut surely.
Might still get that opportunity in October, that probably won’t exist beyond this month…

He's in July's.
El Fabiolo is now in 4, Gaelic in 3 so they've become key horses, which is not a bad thing IMO, although it could be if unlucky with injury.
I would be concerned a little about Gaelic, having burnt many before and likely to do so again, although the stayers is his best chance the way the track is laid out.
He should have ran in the bartlett last year IMO.

I think the duplication is inevitable during the off season, there are no updated form lines or stable tours/owner interviews etc to go on, I always assumed the correct focus on those March-Sept yankees should be horses with (fairly) obvious targets so you will get the Stayers, Mares, Gold Cup, Champion Chase, Ryanair and possibly Cross Country repeated over and over again.
From now we start to apply some form...

So the duplication is likely a better thing, and probably should have been done even more.

Focussing on a core group of horses and perming them each month, and then reacting to issues/form over the season is probably the best way to get success.

You could start with just the six (and rank them) and simply perm them over the summer months, and then once the season starts react accordingly with replacements etc.

I think the Yankee master Faugheen_Machine is doing something like this.

I absolutely agree with this.

I work from two pools of horses. The first pool are those that I think are the best chances of winning, and I perm them together in all their combinations. The second pool are those that I think are the best value alternatives, and I perm them together too. Finally I cross perm the pools. Across the season it becomes easy to adjust positions, and add new permutations, by having been thorough in the first place. Most importantly I break bets out into their individual legs when I place them. Ie, when I place a yankee I place the four timer, the trebles, and the doubles all as separate bets. It can be a ball ache, but it's well worth the extra time to be able to get rid of the bits I don't like, whilst retaining the original odds on the other legs.

Randomly putting horses together just leaves you kicking yourself for the ones you missed and the crossbars hit.
