Ryanair Chase 2018

I considered that but ....

Less risk ... if he loses today I'd lose 4 pts on the special... if he loses today but I'm on 2 pts ew nrnb ill get that back and lose 1 pt on the double for a very slightly smaller return of he won Ryanair.

If he wins today I'm happy to be on ew at double his SP and have the bonus of the 16/1.

Unless it's soft i won't have him my biggest winner but i think he might run on good to soft so don't want to risk win only at the nrnb price

I've checked with bet365 and the Ascot Chase / Ryanair double is NRNB

That is tempting to have a little more on then.... I am just a tiny bit concerned they'd run him anyway now and with Good in the going I am not sure I'd want him on side as much as others.

Obviously depends on how the race plays out to a degree but personally I think if they don't win today, they won't be going to the festival with Waiting Patiently and will instead wait for Aintree or other targets. Seems to be fair level of reluctance for the festival reading between the lines. Such is the strength of the field today though, and the fact it makes up a fair bit of the Ryanair market, a win and he goes imo 7/2 2nd fav at best and they would have to go (bar ground going against him)

Very little risk in the 16/1 bet for me.

Fully expect waiting patiently's winning run to come to an end here. I think the gallop they go infront will get him out of his rythym and he will find it harder to cruise into it when there not stopping infront.
Looks a cracking trial for the ryaniar. Good luck who ever you've backed. :)

What. A. Race.

Loveeee Cue Card, but what a performance from Waiting Patiently.

****
Can i change that to coney island.

Well done waiting patiently, top notch ran alot better than his finishing position and cue card ran an absolute cracker.

That's the exact thing I meant with our duke and presenting percy about championship pace. Theres no rest.
That was an excellent trial for the ryaniar

Mega impressive. WP did that so easily. I think they may swerve the festival though.

WP will be my King George horse for next year

:encouragement: That was really good. I think Cue Card deserves a crack at regaining the Ryanair too.

Was increidbly likely one of the bubbles got burst at Coney Island will not be winning anything this mseason at Cheltenham.

WP deserves to be fav really doesn't he?

Why do you think that?

Doesn't really need minding for anything does he?

What wil lhis long term goals be? The King George won't be affected by a run at Chelt.... and next season they'll surely have to see if he's a Gold CUp horse....

I'd be shocked if they SKIPPED the Ryanair this year! Obviously on NRNB but I expect him to run... hopefully we find out very soon.

Deffinately deserves to be fav imo and I haven't backed him. Too short for me now but arguably should be shorter unless douvan turns up who will be automatic fav. A real shame if it comes up good ground as usual.

Brian Hughes had just said that's as quick as he'd want to be running on. The ground is usually much quicker than that at Cheltenham.

Theyve said he deffinately wont run on good ground. All through his career due to a joint issue. To prolong his career and his own safety.

It's come up good in all recent years.

They'll get the sprinkers on as they switch to the New course though as usual.... so I'd say Good to Soft is 1/5 ....

Bet365 have gone WP 5/2 and UDS 3/1 ....

He's 12/1 for the King George which seems more than fair to me.

When was the last time it was genuine good To Soft on Thursday? I'm genuinely not sure. He needs it on the soft side not just watered on top.

I think they'll have to re-assess!

If it is good to soft officially..... then what on earth will they be waiting for.

Without a doubt that is the strongest piece of form for the Ryanair... an open grade 1 "championship" race at Cheltenham...

If they wskip Cheltenham, where do they go? Nowhere until the winter?

If they don't run him they're stupid, if there is soft in the going.

Unless they come out and state that the King George is literally all they care about.

What do they do next year, say he's now older so we don't mind?

It doesn't affect me at all because everything is NRNB but I think they'd be crazy to skip the festival.

You can't 're assess his joint issues. But obviously he'd having leading chance if conditions were suitable.

Imagine how theyd feel If they took the risk and ran him and he came back with heat in his joint. Its not as if he just prefers soft and that's his preference. Its down to a previous injury.

My point is, a "championship" Grade 1 at Cheltenham is the pinnacle. Coneygree had issues, do you think they regret winning the Gold CUp with him? I don't.

If he skips Cheltenham and comes back next year, my point is, what is he coming back for?/What are they minding him FOR in the future? He'll surely skip the festivals all his life.... or they'll just miss their chance.
