Ryanair Chase 2018

they've run the horse(WP)
5 G/S
2 S
1 G
Its likely to be G/S on the day
Cheltenham is the OLYMPICS of racing. All this reverse psychology that its not the be all and end all is utter claptrap. Those who say that are the ones who are scared of getting beat.

They've made is perfectly clear the King George is the aim for the horse.

Thats not being scared of anything?

He also took on cue card and (at the time) the Ryanair 2nd fav in Top Notch.... with the hyped up Coney Island as well.

I'd like WP to run but if he isn't, it's not because they're 'scared' of other horses beating him?

The good ground one was early in the career when they weren't aware the horse had any issue jointwise on that ground. Since then they vowed never to run the horse on good ground again. All of the good to softs he's run on have been good to soft, soft in places. He's a soft ground horse because of medical issues, whether they think the horse not up to grade 1 company on good ground is irrelevant. Even if he's not i don't understand why that would make someone angry

I actually respect trainers who don't have the festival as the be all and end all. The sport would die if everyone thought it was

The good doctor is always angry about something :highly_amused:

Who would remember WP if he got beat in that race.............no one.

:highly_amused: Hope waiting patiently runs and wins then we can all sit back and relax

Cant wait for the owners/trainer to grow some and take the horse to the real race.

You really would struggle to find many races this season over that trip that were as competitive as the last one he won. They're not scared

Not angry Tim, just having an opinion in a snowflake world where everybody seems to be offended by everything.

Citing offence and snowflakes are usually the signs of someone who doesn't like their opinion to be critiqued #winkyface

Worth remembering that Waiting Patiently's owner is not in the country for Cheltenham.
Their long term plan has always been King George as others have said but his main target this season was the big Ascot race (can't remember the name).
I would say he doesn't go...

As an owner I have no problem with punters having an opinion about my horses and assume that they have no problem if and when I totally ignore said opinion.

For all of those applauding the decision presumably you would also be doing similar if 99/100 adopted a similar negative attitude. Of course there would be no Cheltenham, no forum, but what the hell. A price well worth paying.

What an odd comment? Most horses don't have the same frailties or the same preference for soft ground as WP so why would all others ever do the same?

I really cant see what the issue is here. He is their horse, a very good one at that, and they are minding him because he has issues that most other horses dont. I'd do absolutely the same if he were mine. Choosing one wrong race can finish off a horse forever. I know from personal experience.
