Ryanair 2020

Yes he was - and last year he finished behind Altior - Politilogue - Sceau Royal and Hells Feckin' Kitchen!

So on balance, you're picking that run as his best run?
The run after, you genuinly believe it's the track that brought around that much improvement?

It's much more likely they got the tactics wrong (Willie and Ruby have said this too)....

He's never been better than Altior.... that doesn't mean he can't win a Ryanair.

Last year there were valid excuses- tactics f up. He probably wasn't at his best either.

The other two times?

Cruised - found nothing up the hill.
Last year - not at his best? Maybe - but was well backed and then pissed in at Aintree a few weeks later

He was held up in a slowly run race and needs further these days.
That race (Queen Mother) is one of the most unreliable pieces of form I've seen in a while.
The hike one of the placed horses got was stupid.

I’ve cashed footpad for double my money (technically a slight loss thoughas I had him as a second leg of a double with a 6/4 winner)
strange that there was little response from The bookies still at 8/1 with 365

It does become increasingly difficult to win one of the grade ones for older horses as you get older though as horses improve past you as you're going the other way.
Think this is Min.
But he has a right chance still IMO.
Won't back him though.

Seems Altior's recent defeat has people rushing to play down Min's Cheltenham form. Mind boggles

Nothing to do with Altior! Min just hasn't ever won at Cheltenham. Boggle away!

Delsie...

You are aware that some horses haven't won at Cheltenham, then won a festival race?

All popped into my head in seconds.....

Min has never won at Cheltenham? So you are saying that he has BAD Cheltenham form? HE'S COME SECOND IN TWO GRADE ONES

Are you insane?!"@?!??!

Mullins said:- "I was disappointed with Footpad but I think he ran too free and the pace was a little bit slow.

“The two horses up front weren't jumping at the speed you'd expect in a race like this.

"Footpad did too much in the middle mile of the race and missing the omitted third last fence didn't give him a chance to get his breath back which left him exposed.

"I was very pleased with how Real Steel jumped and how he stayed on and he is improving. Voix Du Reve improved from his last run as well.

"I'd imagine the Ryanair Chase is the plan for Real Steel. Paul said he was as straight as a dye today and there was no bias (jumping left or right). We were concerned before but we have to be looking at the Ryanair Chase with that performance.

"Footpad could possibly do the same but today was not his run. Maybe he had too hard a race in Kempton and it may have impacted on him."

Would have beaten a 2x champion hurdler BvD a length and half in a supreme
Would have cantered to a Champion chase victory if it wasn't for Altior

Take Altior out (and obviously his disappointing effort in the last QMCC where he jumped poorly throughout) and Min would have fantastic festival form..

You brought up Altior as well!

You literally said "Altior or No Altior"

:stupid:

It's like saying My Tent Or Yours had bad festival form cos he never won.

Min might not be good enough, like MTOY wasn't good enough to win the big one BUT the reason MTOY didn't win at Cheltenham wasn't because he hated the hill.

Ridiculous argument.

I count 6 excuses for footpad there.

too free
pace a little slow
did too much in middle of race
missing fence meant no chance to get his breath back
was left exposed
too hard a race at kempton

probably the most I've ever heard for a horse in three sentences.
Seemed to run the exact same race as the last day to me.
He's just not as good since his novice season is he ?

alot of them just arent the same for pressure after they burst, Footpad looks a prime example

Yep, nobody can fancy him now and the bookies haven't gone over the top at all.

I think when you're offering so many excuses for a horse.

The horse needs only one thing.

We shall see soon enough. Good luck Kev

"We shall see"

The best of all the arguments.

If Min doesn't win you're still wrong with the theory :devilish:

Let's hope A Plus Tard wins as these are our books :encouragement:

Yours: Ryanair
Douvan EW 33/1 (not entered)
A Plus Tard EW 25/1
Le Richbourg 70/1

Mine: Ryanair (+1.5 pts for cashing out Footpad)
Min 19/1 2 pts and 8/1 e/w
A Plus Tard 16/1 e/w 1.5 pts
Darasso 299/1
Real Steel 20/1 1.5 pts e/w (NRNB)
