Ryanair 2019

Think he would run well in this, haven’t got him covered so far as I thought the owners would want a GC shot

How about Al Boum Photo? Here or GC? Would think GC unless Min got injured?

Yes, although not similar to Vautour in any way bar the connections?

He’s certainly not on his level. If it came up soft I think he would have a tough time seeing this out but if lucky enough to get proper good to soft he might be able to use his gears to win this.

Monalee looks about ideal for this though doesn’t he?

I'd very much think Monalee with a positive ride would have a huge chance yes.

I also took a position that Min would be the most talented horse in the race.

I don't believe there is a specific 'type' or 'mould' that you NEED TO BE to win a Ryanair, so despite them being very, very, very different horses, I like both.

Would be an interesting race to price up. I think Min goes off fav but I'd want to be on Monalee to run the finish out of him.

Min will almost certainly go off fav if he ends up here. Agree re Monalee

Monalee has run a little flat this season. Hasn't run with the same enthusiasm.

Wouldn’t agree with that, he ran & jumped very well in the Savills Chase. Just outpaced by Kemboy I’m the last few furlongs. He’s settling a little better than he was last year too. Where did you read HdB’s comment about the Ryanair lookingvthe most likely?

He might.

He might also give Min a good pace to run at and it'll help Min cruise past him approaching the last.

I'm happy with both haha

Might of already been mentioned on this thread, but does anyone think that Politologue WILL NOT run here. I always like horses that ran ok in the KG for this and he does fit the bill nicely.

I think he runs here but I'd be worried about his Cheltenham record.
Nicholls says the horse hasn't stopped improving so maybe we should ignore his previous record but Cheltenham is a unique track and I struggle to back horses who have been there before and disappointed...

The yard's classy Politologue was upped in trip for the King George but finished 18 lengths behind stablemate Clan Des Obeaux in the 3m contest. He is likely to be aimed at the Ryanair Chase.
Nicholls said of the two-time Grade 1 winner: "Politologue didn't run too badly but it just looked like he didn't stay from the second-last.
"We'll probably step back in trip and he could end up going for the Ascot Chase over two miles five in February and make a plan after that. He won't have an entry for the Gold Cup."

"He will go back to racing over two and a half miles, and two-miles-five. We will look at the Ascot Chase in February now. He will then have a crack at the Ryanair at Cheltenham"

Altior is 2/1 NRNB with PP now.

Better than Evens with 365 haha

Thought I was on the Champion Chase thread for a second and was busily thinking how much money I could get my hands on to invest...thought it was a limited time special offer....yeah right...haha

Haha, if I had a 5 figures lying around, I'd pop it on now and lay it off on the day at SP of odds on.
