RSA Chase 2020

Personally think Allaho is more of a JLT sort myself + Carefully Selected will be their RSA horse...

I was hoping CS would be Patrick's horse in the NHC.

Mullin's bingo of course, but i think he's better than that- and the RSA was mentioned at the stabletour according to Tatt's twitter.

I would personally have thought a horse with the ability to get within 3.5Ls of Minella Indo with only 2 starts over hurdles would be aimed at a proper G1 like the RSA.

That's my take anyway, but reality is we haven't seen a lot of him over obstacles so still learning!

I’d have concerns Carefully Selected wouldn’t have enough gears to get his nose in front on the old course in the RSA. Hypothetically if you put him in last years race I’m not convinced he’d have had the turn of foot Topofthegame had to put the race to bed!

I know the NHC is ran over the same course but I’d be more confident that’s a race he can definitely win with his running style. Granted he proves he can jump well obviously. Have him covered for both but I’d fancy his chances in the NHC.

Its a real conundrum this race. Could be one of the deepest at the Festival and there are several I really like.

Willie alone has three very exciting staying types in Allaho, Carefully Selected and Next Destination, and all three have the potential to be his first string in another year. I've backed all three for this... Whilst I find it hard to imagine that they will all take each other on if fit and well, it looks the right race for all three so why not?

Its not hard to imagine one of the three going for the Four Miler though, but suppose that will depend on how the season pans out.

Don't know if it's been mentioned before but just watched Nicky Hendersons unibet blog on his novice chasers and twice he mentioned about Champ not schooling as well as others first he says hes too keen but then doubles back and doesn't give a real reason for it. May be nothing but thought I'd bring it up with him being joint favourite.

To my un trained eye he looked like a pretty decent jumper of a fence in that video of him jumping at chepstow the other day after racing

I got that impression too for what it’s worth

What is making you lean that way Jack?

As I said I've backed any race too so it's clearly in my mind but interested to see why you'd lean away from here with him... is it just because Carefully Selected it on the scene?

Don't remember hearing that... I'll have to go back again.

That'd put you off taking the 10/1 now.... but nobody is taking 10/1 now.

Happily taken the 10/1 on champ.

I cant personally get 10s without walking to town, and fully expect him to canter to victory 1st time up.

Alright, nobody bar scooby is taking the 10s now :p

If he jumps like a donut and wins the stayers you'll be annoyed. Get on those exchanges and see what price you can get ;)

Not Champs biggest fan which maybe why to me it looked like he jumped a bit left, but nothing massive

Happy with 10/1 Champ he is crying out for 3 miles the defeat in the Ballymore down to distance for me.

Henderson battalion looking set to be unleashed. Both Champ and Birchdale entered over 2m 6f at Newbury on Thursday. I’d expect one of them to run so that will be another ante post price gone as there will no doubt be a collapse in price afterwards.

If samcro can go from 16s to 6s with a foot perfect round, against trees.

I'm sure champ would go to around 6/1 for this with a clear round and a victory.

I think you’re right on that one.

I feel like I have to get Champ in the book at the 10/1 with WH before he's a bonkers price.

Will have to find something to roll on to him today.... that needs to win because if I have to do it twice I might as well have just backed him at 10/1

Come on forum

and don't suggest LBAR anyone :p
