RSA Chase 2019

Unibet PR guy is at the yard and has just tweeted a photo of Santini saying he looks in fine shape

Yeah, saw that. Only need the Twitter rumours to start and the exchanges become extremely active. Could be absolutely nothing.

Not sure what’s been going on but Santini been up and down like a pair of prostitutes knickers on exchanges. Like CCM says stabilised now though, Thank god

Suppose its that time of year geordieboy!
Certainly is, just a case of sit tight and hope no negative news on any of your fancies. Obviously this last month or so been pretty brutal, but I suppose injuries and change of races are always going to happen at some point. But end of the day we still love the sport

As others have said, there is no way the green and gold will change their long term plan a week before, because a horse that is completely unconnected to them is out.

Added to that the Warwick form hasn't worked out at all.

You could also say Santini's Newbury form is equally poor and subsequently he looked slow and was never really competitive at Kempton. He only plodded on once the race was over.

Stinks to high heaven this. Wouldn't of minded being on the decent prices despite the risk, if all is ok that is.

The line 'horses for courses' sticks out to me here.

Had the same with Melon in the Supreme a few years back.

My take and I could be wrong, is the bookies did their usual Monday morning market adjustment which resulted in them pushing Santini out to 4s and others in. Pretty sure they reacted first before the exchange. That then prompted some hysteria and plenty of rumours and then it's like a run on the bank with everyone trying to lay off, until it looks like the horse is ok and faith is restored. He's settled for the time being at least around 5/1 on the machine which is what you would expect when you can get 4s with the likes of Hills and 365

Leading hope Santini lost a shoe during work at Newbury yesterday, had a poultice on overnight. Matt Chapman on twitter

Chapman just reported that henderson has told him it lost a shoe yesterday and had a poltice on over night.

Like deja vu with altior last year.
mmmm

Santini lost a shoe yesterday and our vet poulticed it as a precautionary measure. I have been away from the yard today but have spoken to my staff and they report him fine and we see no reason why he won’t run in the RSA. Should that change, I will update accordingly.

GE: Champagne Classic good chance in 4 miler. Michael wants to run him in RSA but sure he'd have no chance.

22/1 NRNB with lads.... that won't last :highly_amused:

Nice one Kev, if ever there was a horse for any race this was the one. Been chasing him all over the place this last few weeks, at least at NRNB it’s not so painful. Both Laddies and Coral only allowed 15 quid
