Counting my winnings (the money I've saved not betting on a set of winners I wouldn't have picked given 100 years)

They'll probably be slightly dissapointed vauban won by so far

Blown his mark for the ebor and Melbourne Cup

He may as well be aimed at the top 2 mile races now

Yep. Demolition job.
Gold Cup winner next year.

Well, that was a near disastrous day. Paddington winning clawed some back, but it was definitely a day that ended well in the red!

On to day 2!

Won't be long until this years Royal Ascot, so thought I'd re-ignite this thread. The other 4 days also have threads, rather than setting up new ones, for anyone that is having a go this year.

Queen Anne Stakes - Sardinian Warrior 10/1
Coventry - Postmodern 13/1 & 6/1 (shameful after timing, I know)
King Charles III Stakes - Night Raider 15/1 (again, bit of an after timing price, although still 12's I believe)
St James Palace Stakes - Field Of Gold EVS

Are the four I am keen on & have backed so far.

Anyone else on anything in particular?

Haven't fully made my mind up yet, waiting to see what the conditions will be but I think Field of Gold could get done again by Ruling Court or Henri Matisse.
Theres only around 2 1/2f left after they straighten up from the bend and if both kick from there he may too much to make up on them.
I'm leaning towards HM currently but will probably wait until the day itself

Ever Hopeful me !! , just done , earlier today .. a L. 31 - Colin Keane Rides..- ** except - Asfoora.
Lead Artist *.. .. q. Anne - 9-2 .
Asfoora *.. k. charles - 5-1 . ** not C. K. ** ..]- *These 3 for Tuesday.*
Field of Gold * .. st james .. - 10-11. .

........................................................................
I'll wait till next week , and bet day by day .. if anything catches my eye..

Rosallion a fair 7/2 chance in the Queen Anne imo. Enough to like about his comeback after best part of a year off, behind a couple of race fit rivals.

Taken a swing on American Affair in the King Stand at 33s also. Sprint division looks set for an upset.

Not sure I'll have much else on the Tuesday. Although may change my mind if it rains.

When american affair won that handicap. I said to myself I wouldn't be surprised at all if he ran a big race at a big price at Royal ascot.

Iv just been looking through the week not many have great appeal to me at current prices

The st james palace and Queen anne look very interesting the rest not so much

Trawlerman in the gold cup was the one that i like at the prices. It is though a race that seems to either be won by a 4yo or the reigning champion.

Poniros will likely be my only bet on day 1. Happy to just enjoy watching the others.

Poniros needs 10 to come out, I think, doesn't he? Is that likely?

Ryan jocked up on the Kings horse currently probably gives us a clue as to the pecking order, albeit Ryan used to ride for the Queen a lot.

Aye, there's a definite chance of the race / conditions suiting and picking up the pieces. I can't decide if American Affair is going to be the wise guy choice and end up going off shorter than he should and the 25s now should be taken. Or will be priced to his rating and go off bigger...

Trawlerman another I'm big on as well. Seems a very solid each way play, although come in a couple of points the last week or so. Very hard to see him unplaced and I think he's most solid for the win. As much Illinois and the french horse bring a bit of interest and staying potential. Didn't post because it wasn't Day 1 haha.

Top Gear another I like later in the week, in the Jubilee or whatever it's now called.

And the fav is very solid in the Commonwealth imo.

Probably play Henri in the SJP as well.

Ombudsman in the Prince of Wales likewise.

Might as well have the whole week in here

If it wasn't a 6f race I'd have shadow of light as the banker of the week

Do think field of gold will win though. No dip to get unbalanced in and the stiff finish will suit him. They will ride him handier and can see him reversing that form unless running in both guineas and the craven effects him.

I wasn't convinced FoG has a change of pace to be best suited by coming off a bend like the SJP. But I could be chatting shite here.

I will eventually look into this a bit more. Which is why the bet was a 'might'.

Anyone wants to correct me before I bother though it'd really help...

Sort of related to day 1, but I've backed reaching high at 100/1 for the melbourne cup.
