Already have Greaneteen covered for the CC so hoping for a big run today - but also tempted to do a small stakes Global Citizen today / PTKO QMCC roll-up at just shy of 110/1 and GC today / Fakir D Ryanair at 135/1 just in case the Arkle form gets another boost today.

Probably has been mentioned previously in this thread but had a small play on Honeysuckle (Mares Hurdle) and BDD (Mares Chase) double following Willie's comments about BDD

Yeah, around the time they declared Honeysuckle as staying over hurdles.... 59/1 I think.

Still 57.5/1 now :triumphant:

From the Willie Stable Tour, he mentioned Paul Townend thinking shorter trips for Ferny Hollow, and Willie name drops the Ballymore for Appreciate It.... I know this one has already been put up :)

  • Ferny Hollow (Supreme)
  • Appreciate It (Ballymore)
Is currently 164/1

I'm having another 0.5 pts e/w on that.

Ballyadam to go Ballymore or do you think Cheveley Park will send both he and Ferney down the Supreme route?

I don't know this for a fact but I don't think Cheveley Park will get involved and/or try and influence Willie/Gordon. As I mentioned a few pages back their racing manager didn't even go to Cheltenham to watch Envoi Allen citing a busy flat breeding season as the reason. For me it reaffirmed in my mind that for CPS the jumps is a hobby and they really don't get involved the same way they do on the flat.

It's probably too early to start guessing re Ferny Hollow because we haven't seen him yet and he comes with his quirks, big time. He could settle over 2m and blow the field away, or just as easily lose his head, pull Pauls arms out and leave us all scratching our heads as to what's next

I don't have any evidence to suggest the owners get involved yet... so I think both could end up in the Supreme.

They have different jockeys. If CP had a retained jockey I'd be less inclined to think they won't be split.

Paul Townend - Ferny Hollow and Appreciate It
Jack Kennedy - Ballyadam and Farouk D'Alene

etc?

As per my diary, I have also backed Ballyadam / Appreciate It at 164/1 as well..... but they're not "related" so I didn't mention it here :)

Mares Bingo

Just chatting with Lobos in the Mares Hurdle thread, mentioned this so will have to post it up....

2551/1

Honeysuckle (Champion Hurdle)
Concertista (Mares Hurdle)
Benie Des Dieux (Mares Chase)

As much as I don't think Honeysuckle will run, I can't deny they'll weight it up and Henry De Bromhead is pretty game, he may not just automatically take in the easier race IF (Benie Des Dieux) does end up chasing. BDD would only end up chasing IF Mullins has what he considers a penalty kick in the Mares Hurdles, and Concertista does look the most likely, given her festival record? (Compared to Stormy Ireland, or Burning Victory?)

So whilst I don't actually love this bet, the small stakes trixie may well be worth a min stakes dabble...

You swine. I love that bet but will have to break my 'doubles only' rule if I do it.

You could just do the doubles on each of them and leave the treble ;)

Honey going Churdle :hopelessness:so stick Concertista in the Mares Hurdle .

Lot of water to go under the bridge yeh.
Personally don't think she'd win a CH but obvious place claims.

7/2 Mares 16/1 CH. Go figure.

You could say the same re Benie but it hasn't stopped people backing her for the Mares Chase. I've got Honey covered for the Mares Hurdle but I don't expect her to end up there, I really don't and connections aren't convinced either.......

"I'd imagine we'll treat the season in two halves for her," explained Molony.

"She could start off in the Hatton's Grace at Fairyhouse before going on to the Irish Champion Hurdle, just like last year. It's going to be interesting to see how she gets on against all those good novice hurdlers from last season.

"From there, we'll see how she gets on and weigh up our options. There's a chance she could go a different route than last year after that depending on how the season unfolds.

I wouldn't say that re Benie though as the discrepancy between her mares price and chase price (B365 5/1 and 7/1) is no way near as stark as the price differential on Honeysuckle for the Mares/Champion.

My OP was trying to give a sense of market perspective Lobos because I know you want it to happen, but we know quite a lot about her and she's 16/1 for the Champion and 7/2 for the Mares. IMO that says two things. One, the bookies think she's far more likely to go mares and two, the boookies are happy offering 16/1 because her form (at the moment) is clearly better over 2m4f than 2m. Neither are ringing endorsements of a CH campaign, but of course anything could change and she could prove me wrong and do wonderful things in the Irish Champion Hurdle, so we'll see.
