Queen Mother Champion Chase 2020

It's not ideal but it would read like its a come and go problem not as though the horse would miss a piece of work.

Altior now only 4.8 on the exchange missed the bigger prices earlier but I expect him to line up. Think Henderson is just being super open which is good to see

Some might say super open, some other might say bent as a nine pound note.

Looks like I've been given duff information

Spoken to a friend whose horse has had a splint and they think it would be very very unlikely to get better by Wednesday.

However, they wouldn’t be giving their horse the attention that Altior will be getting. Additionally, when their horse had puss in the foot like Altior had two years ago it took over a week to get better. So with round the clock care maybe he will get fit but can’t say I am overly optimistic.

Altior declared

If there's even a seed of doubt, hendo surely has to pull him, I don't see how he runs as it stands..

Horses have run, and won, at the Cheltenham Festival after being lame in the morning....

Altior
Bun Doran
Chacun Pour Soi
Defi du Seuil
Dynamite Dollars
Politologue
Sceau Royal

This isn't just any horse though is it? And with the competition in the race, is it really worth it

If it was an easy race, he's fine to have a go?

You want the 4 time festival winner, to sidestep the race because it's got some competition in it?

Doesn't make sense.

Of course it's worth it, he's a racehorse

100%. if 80% plus fit, he has to run.

Altior has been declared for Wednesday's Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase after making good progress in his bid to overcome a last-minute setback, but his participation remains in the balance.

The two-time Champion Chase winner was reported lame by Nicky Henderson on Sunday, with the trainer admitting his star chaser faces a "battle against time" to make the day-two highlight.

Speaking on Monday morning, Henderson said: "We've declared Altior on the grounds he has made good improvement from yesterday. He has sensitivity on the splint and resented you pressing it yesterday. But he's nothing like as reactive today.

"On the grounds of that improvement overnight we've got to give him every chance to run. He's on the treadmill walking and will do the same tonight. We must give him a chance."

Altior featured alongside Defi Du Seuil and Chacun Pour Soi in a seven-strong field for what has been billed of the race of the week.

Dynamite Dollars, Politologue, Sceau Royal and Bun Doran complete the line-up, with A Plus Tard and Min seemingly set for Thursday's Ryanair Chase after being taken out.
