Queen Mother Champion Chase 2020

I honestly think horses never truly reach the same level they were at before the injury but he looked great last time out and if there’s one man to get him fighting fit for the day then it’s Willie. I’d love to see it

Re Douvan, for me as Kev says he's one to wait for on the day. If he turns up, he's likely to have other stablemates in there. He's not certain to be backed either, so his exchange price might be nice enough to back then if you want too. He drifted on his return from 364days of from 5-2 to 9/2 when he fell at Chelt. God knows what exchange price he was then as well.

He needs to make it there in one piece, and with the wealth of talent WPM has in the divisions there's even a chance he's left off and runs at home.
 
If Douvan shows up in March for whichever race i'm fairly sure most of us would back him, some for nostalgic reasons some FOMO and others convinced he will win, i think i would be one of the latter
 
Cashed out all my Douvan bets for a profit. Its a huge if whether or not he even makes Cheltenham and after another set back I don’t see how he’d win a QMCC.

I'll be surprised if le richebourg could get anywhere near in a champion chase. He was a little bit better than an awful bunch he was running against.

Absolutely cant see them sending Defi ryanair. Why would you hes won the best trial for the race, go for the big one. Le Rich got a lot to prove to suggest he would would trouble these

Kevin Blake said that he will miss Christmas but only just, and will probably have a hurdle run by this time next month as a prep for the Dublin Racing Festival for the G1 2m Chase
 
Altior doesnt go for the KG confirmed by NH...

Looks certain he will turn up here now for any doubters
 
It annoys me why Henderson just doesn’t tell the truth. He’s not going in the King George because the experiment never worked out not because he’s come out of the race flat. If this was the reason then I expect to see Altior line up in the Gold cup which let’s be honest ...... clearly isn’t going to happen. Henderson ..... admit it !!!!! He’s not as good as you thought !!!!!

What would the reason be for coming back to 2 miles ???
If he’s saying he hasn’t come out the race well then surly we will carry on with the experiment.
I’ll have a bet with anyone that he comes back to 2 miles. This shows you that Henderson is chatting utter tosh.

Do t know how else I could explain it.

You haven't explained it. You said he's lying and that Altior isn't running flat at the moment.

Just curious how you know, thats all.
 
I don’t think Henderson is fobbing anyone off, he gets pestered for updates on a daily basis and often offers something. They’ve tried Altior over further against the highest rated horse in training so they’ve not ducked anyone or avoided a genuine competition. Altior wasn’t disgraced but either he was not fully ready or not quite good enough to compete that far. As a horse I still regard him as one of the greatest ever and he or Henderson owe no one anything, he may still go further again but if he doesn’t he’s still one of the greatest and always will be IMHBEO. I hope he does go back to 2 mile as I’d love to see him take on Defi and CCS this March and any other horse who thinks he is over the hill
 
Look if Henderson just comes out and says we tried, it didn’t work so we’ll be coming back to 2 miles, I’d have absolutely no problem. We all know he’s coming back to 2 miles and in MY OPINION Henderson hasn’t had the cohones to admit defeat. As for Altior being one of the best ever..... totally disagree. Look at the division he’s been running in over the last 3 years. Not one genuine high class 2 miler to compete with other than Douvan who’s made of glass. Put him in the era 5 or 6 years back with Sizing Europe, Masterminded, Sprinter. Hell I even think Big Zeb would have beat him. Never been a fan personally, always struggles to get the job done against this current crop.
