Queen Mother Champion Chase 2019

I've been told that Great Field is the #1 Mullins horse for this with Footpad looking likely to be stepped up in trip. Obviously with Willie we know this is all subject to change, but I'm told this is the stance at the moment. The thinking is that the run style of Great Field will play to Altior's weaknesses. Lets see.

(Also note that PP are BP about Altior, Footpad, Saint Calvados and Min for the CC currently)....

A friend of mine is a member of a syndicate who have a couple of horses in the yard, I wouldn't have any reason to not believe him. Will keep updating as we get closer

Excited to see sceau royal tomorrow hopefully he can do the business as it's a long time since iv backed one for the champion chase.

Shame to hear that.

An absolute JUDGE put up Saint Calvados at 50/1 :highly_amused:

To ruin the fun, I have backed Sceau Royal each way with 365 too

I haven't backed him yet waiting for him to do the business. I'd be confident he will though

It is surprising bookies don't close accounts on people backing in running or just after events.

I do it as often as I can and is never been an issue.

It is surprising .
However after let's dance won the stable bonus race I absolutely smashed her for the mares novice at 10/1 that account was limited to win £5 the next day. And she haddnt even ran at chelt yet. That's why I don't post in the sky bets thread.

There's one particular account its very easy on. But they have none of it after Christmas. Completely suspend the event. Which it's right to do. Iv had karma of the same horses getting injured though pre chelt.

I want to see what he finds up the hill before I could back him for the Champion Chase. Lively outsider. Short enough tomorrow though?

I’ve backed him for today’s race as it goes.

Think he’s the class horse in the race and should simply be too good. Took 11/8

Brain Power and Le Prezien are good handicappers - not grade 1 horses. Sceau Royal should put them away. I think he'll win nicely today and r should get an accurate rating on him if Le Prezien runs his race. He may be trying to slip back down the handicap though worry another crack at the Grand Annual in mind?

Well impressed with his jumping and he is so quick through the air. Might gave Altior a fright :highly_amused:

Worry would be he seems better early season than in the Spring and Simply Ned wouldn't be winning a Champion Chase...

Won't do anything too soon but likely to cash that out closer to the time.

He jumped really well for the majority of that race.

Not sure Simply Ned would be sighted against Altior. He did it nicely but he only beat grade 2 and handicap horses so will need to step up again to feature in a Champion Chase.

SR travelled and jumped really well. Never finds much. Cant see him challenging here.

Can't knock that seasonal debut at all, but agree with others, struggle to have him bothering Altior.

I like him personally If I could have got the 28s I'd have very happily taken it ew. Missed the boat so I'll have to watch him and see if he drifts at some point.

*******
I have got the 28s thanks to the Mrs knowing I wanted the bet. What a woman.

Haha superb!

16/1 now best price, alongside Saint Calvados - I'd love to see them two in a match race.

Let's hope Altior steps on a stone :highly_amused:

SR a better each way bet - SC a better win bet :devilish:

I did mention it a fair few times this weekend to her tbf. I really rate him. He'll come on for the run and he loved it at Sandown last year so no excuses if he runs in the tingle creek on decent ground.
He'll finish infront of SC :devilish:
