Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe 2021

Still fairly happy with my Philomene bet. Had to go too wide last weekend but was doing all her best work at the end.

With a better draw/position and the extra furlong I’m not giving up on her yet.

She was flying at the end there Craigy. She covered the final 600 metres quicker than any other horse in the race.

She will be much better suited to the proper gallop in the arc not the jog and sprint of the french classics

Chrono Genesis, Lei Papale and Mozu Bello will be running In the Takarazuka Kinen on Sunday morning for anyone interested.

Assuming the Arc will look like being soft again do you think Aidan will run Snowfall in the Arc and Love in the Breeder's Cup turf? i.e. he'll keep them apart.

:indecisiveness: No mention of Hurricane Lane?

Youd think so yes

With the fillies and mares at ascot another potential target

If love runs in the arc I could see snowfall running at ascot and santa barbara and bolshoi ballet being sent to the breeders cup

He has lots of options!

Yes she was better than I was expecting after weld saying she was undercooked

Had an antepost bet on In Swoop for the Arc @ 20-1 with Betfred. second last year , hoping he goes one better.

As if my day couldn't get any worse , In Swoop retired through Injury today. :boxing:,.

Hi all, thinking of heading to Longchamp this year. Has anyone ever been, is the ‘winning post enclosure’ for €65 worth it over the ‘Arc Gardens’ ones for €20? What’s the main difference between the 2?

Very very good run from tarnawa there

Race wouldnt have suited at all

Slowly run 10f against the guineas winner and eclipse winner

Very happy with that as a trial for this and the breeders cup turf

I agree though this year's Arc field could be exceptionally strong.
St Mark's Basilica seems more like a horse who would do well in the Breeder's Cup turf or classic
Good run by Poetic Flare who could aim for further 10f races on this evidence

Such a shame Wonderful Tonight suffered a career ending injury, I think given soft ground she could have gone very close.

Anyone else think it’s madness for Hurricane Lane’s connection to be considering this ?

It's not madness as long as he isn't knackered from running in the St Leger but he may well have had something taken out of him. I recall Camelot running no sort of race in the Arc after he should have won the St L.

I honestly thought after HL won the group 1 in France, the arc was his no 1 target and was surprised to see a couple of weeks ago that they'd confirmed he would run in the St Leger. Obviously he went and won it so you can't knock it. It looks like a massive vote of confidence from Godolphin for Adayar.

My own personal opinion is Hurricane Lane is the better of the two, but Adayar has won the bigger races. Just have a feeling it might be a race too far for the hurricane.

6 runs and been on the go since April, so presumably has been in race/fast work for 7/8 months.
A soft ground Arc might just be a race too far for the season, I could easily be wrong of course…

For me it depends

If they intend on racing him at 4 he should be put away

If hes going to the breeding sheds may as well go for it

Especially with adayar having a set back and snowfall losing

What's the setback with Adayar?
