Preview Evenings - links, details and write ups

Appears the Skybet sportinglife one (last night)
The panel includes ITV Racing duo Ed Chamberlin and Oli Bell, top pundits Fran Berry, Daryl Jacob and Mark Howard plus Marine Nationale's jockey Sean Flanagan.

Was not streamed, cant seem to find any quotes on X from this. Anyone had any luck?
It was streamed through their facebook page but not Youtube for some reason. Search "Sporting Life Racing" on FB and you'll find it - it's about 2 hours long - Patrick Mullins joined for a chat as well - gave Jump Allen has his handicap one to follow - which he's thrown out at a lot of previews.

Jacob was adamant that TTT is going Supreme.

Bryan Gault also gave a decent review of the one he went to on Wednesday - David Casey and Busty Almond on it - both always worth listening to. Casey is generally the most straight of the Mullins crew that comes out at this time of year.

Hilarious the unibet hendo stream isnt going on at the moment- X all complaining.

….they used to save their best for Aintree, done me lots of favours over the years. Nimba is interesting in the bumper at 50-1, thanks for posting.
Nimba owner spent a fortune on horses with Bowens and not much positivity has been seen on this season's form though

upping the ante one is on youtube, not live though cos they are tipping horses no longer entered left right and centre.
Yeah on it now and theyre talking horses not even fucking entered anymore ffs :ROFLMAO:

Whilst not previews in the most traditional sense, the Take a Pull daily previews really were excellent

I've watched every preview posted this last month I think. I search the word Cheltenham on YouTube and select upload date as today every few hours then refresh.
Wowza... Gordon was not happy with blogger. Yikes!!!!
(EDIT: Gordon was not happy with anyone...lol)

Went to the Preview night at the racecourse last night. Its never very illuminating and the panel was not inspiring, and in a lot of cases completely under prepared / researched (I'm being generous!). A few small points (mainly from AP) that I picked out:

- AP said that he reckons Iroko would easily give Jagwar 5lb in the Ultima and if he was choosing what to ride it would be a no brainer. He did say though that Josh Guerrero was not of the same view,
- AP said that Jonbon would be kept in both races but was only likely to run if something happened to Majborough or F2F. Said JP absolutely loves Jonbon.
- AP likes Quiryn in the bumper. Said he's not a typical 4yo as he was flat bred and trained but would not go into the starting stalls.
- AP said he would run F2F in the Ryanair. Said he would be fav for the Gold Cup but he's not sure he would win it.
- Both AP and Geraghty were lukewarm on Jeriko Du Reponet. AP said he was not a good jumper and is not a horse "to go to war on". Geraghty said he lacks scope.
- Both AP and Geraghty prefer Selma De Vary to Proactif. Geraghty thinks the latter is "a bit raw" for the Triumph.
- AP said that Jango Baie was the first of the finishers in the King George to pull up after the line and he doesn't like to see that. Doesn't think he is crying out for further.
- Jane Mangan said she heard Apache Tribe (AB) was going directly to Aintree (this is not reflected on the Exchange).

I can't have Quiryn. I didn't think he looked as good as several others, and not sure that 4yo's and flat breds have much of a record. Cue Card showed a 4yo can win, but visually that was one of the most impressive performances I have ever seen at the Festival, winning virtually on the bridle. He wasn't flat bred.

For those that have very long memories there was a 4yo bumper horse back in the early 90s called Ruling (you have to type in Ruling I (capital i) to find him on the RP database) who had a similar background to Quiryn in that he had been trained for the flat. My memory is not what it was but I believe that he cost a fair bit as a yearling, upwards of 300k. This was in the days prior to the champion bumper but he proved very useful in that sphere managing to hammer future gold cup winner Jodami in one of his bumpers. He went on to finish placed in two champion hurdles behind Morley Street and Royal Gait.

Ruling was by Alleged from a good US family. He won bumpers at Ayr and Kempton and finished second at Aintree.

Luke Harvey said at a preview night that TTT has been sold to JP. Quite how he’d know more than others, I’m not sure.
