Preview Evenings - links, details and write ups

….i might listen to the PP one at 19.30 tonight and post some of their thoughts (Ruby Walsh, Lydia Hislop, Tony Mullins & Johnny Dineen). ATR have theirs at 21.00 but I’d struggle to sit through that for a few hours (Chapman, Mick Fitz, Davy Russell & Tony Ennis).

If you (or anyone) can put a link up here for both I'd be grateful....

The Paddy Power one has been quite funny for seeing Tony Mullins seeing the market for each race for the first time on his phone in front of him

I cringed everytime he spoke, really really poor.

Embarrassing stuff

Not the worst preview, glad there seems to be a trend to covering every race.
For years these panels have spent half an hour on how good Jonbon or Galopin Des Champs is, we learn nothing from that, the 124 rated plot in the Fred Winter on the other hand...

….i found it a bit of a mixed bag, the likes of Lydia Hislop had clearly done her homework whilst Tony Mullins didn’t seem to have a clue. No charity bets at the end, I got the impression Paddy wanted to get home.

Yeah decent enough if you had nothing else on, but very little of real interest to most on here who follow things so closely.

Big negative for me was Ruby being strong on nearly all my major fancies :(

Did Tony pick anything other than what was fav :biggrin-new: shows his lack of preparation. Even in the handicaps, think JP is winning at least half the races too :biggrin-new:

….he didn’t seem to have a clue what was going where, spent half the time saying F2F should run in the GC. Did suggest Kopeck de Mee could be thrown in.

Tony Mullins disgraced himself last night, that was embarrassing to watch as a keen race fan. Every time he opened his mouth I cringed, from picking horses not going for races which is known publicly to saying what the previous panelist said when asked for his input. Really really poor stuff.

He's often like that is Tony.
Would love to have a beer with him though...

Tony Mullins is only in there for the 'entertainment' value and that value is extremely limited for anyone with a modicum of intellect.

Didn't necessarily want to join in the Tony Mullins pile-on, but my word, someone needs to tell him that if you don't know an answer or haven't done the requisite research, just say nothing. It's better to remain silent and be thought of as stupid, then to speak up and remove all doubt.

I know a few of you are coming to the Preview afternoon in Gloucester on Sunday. The following is a message with location and parking details.

Also I’ve had a group of 4 drop out so there is currently some availability if anyone wants to come along. Send me a DM if you’re interested. Both nortonscoin200 and jono are on the panel, alongside Ginger Joe, and Liam Firkin current Tipstar Champion. Yours truly is hosting. Details are here:

Longlevens AFC is situated on Longford Lane in Longlevens next door to Longlevens Rugby Club. The Postal Code is GL2 9EU.

Car Parking at the Club itself is limited so please use the overflow Parking Facilties at Milestone School which is about 200 meters up the road.
Please refrain from parking on the road outside the Club as well get into trouble with the neighbours

Parking is completely free and if you have any issues please ring or message Steve on 07736 327646 and we’ll be able to assist.
