Pertemps Network Final 2019

You beat me to it Ista - correct, money back if ballotted out - happened to me a few times over the years

If a horse is too low to get in, you don't lose your money do you? Even without NRNB?

So for example, if It's all Guesswork doesn't get a high enough mark, if he effectively 'balloted out'? Or is it a Non Runner?

No, if a horse doesn’t dun because he/she is balloted out all stakes are refunded

Exactly.

A common factor that punters miss. I learnt that in this forum not long after I joined :encouragement:

So less risk backing a horse that is 'too low' in the weights, as you'll get the money back.

I like that - albeit I’m surprised

The potential difficulty with the ballotted out “insurance” is that horses aren’t entered/confirmed - might be worse this year with the new one race rule

Its all guesswork not entered but in

ULTIMA, KIM MUIR, PIPE

No price up for the KM, interesting though having ran in the qualifier.

Not sure his mark would get him in the Ultima or Pipe unless his hurdler rating is put up a few pounds from the qualifier.

Added Thomas Campbell 25/1 NRNB. Only handicap entry for the festival, runs in a qualifier tomorrow I believe. 7lb lower than last season in ground he wouldn't have enjoyed. Course form aplenty though.

A very good point.

Hadn't thought about that actually.

He does have a win on soft at Cheltenham to his name though?

I can't recall a ground preference for him.... like the angle though. Never liked the horse but certainly of interest.

Well he won't be running in the race, not after that! Culture De Sivola the one to take for me from that.

Flemcara, Boyhood and Culture De Sivola will all get in race now. Flemcara will get a decent rise(7lb?) and the others both got tapped for toe a long way out. Would need soft ground to be interested in any of them personally.

I hate this race. I’ve got about 6 at the minute, and they might all get stuffed. F knows

J.Harrington interview.

Looks like Not Many Left being aimed at the Coral Cup now and Walk To Freedom staying here.

Not Many Left 33/1 with 365 for the Coral.

Awe bollocks, another detour needed on my selections!! I had Not Many Left involved in a few multiples as I was very confident of a definite place and probable win in the Pertemps. Thanks for the info Doc, I’m out the country at present so relying on these updates to stay in touch with the race progresses. I’ve got Walk to Freedom but had Not Many Left twice. I’ll probably wait until the 27th to see how the handicaps look before making any more changes as I’m chipping away at my cash out value each time.

I've taken full cash-out Not Many Left. Annoying.
