Pertemps Network Final 2019

Haha I'm not one of those fellas but duly noted!

Back on topic, Early Doors not declared for tomorrow's qualifier

Not Many Left wins the qualifier today at Huntingdon. Wasn't best pleased to see her win as she already has a high enough mark. On second thoughts, If she qualifies over here and gets her penalty for todays success, am I right in thinking the handicapper can't put her up anymore than the current mark after todays run????
Anyone with more knowledge feel free to answer. TIA.

She is a he. Can still go up on related form. But Would seem relatively safe

Still 25s at Coral. I’ve added him, that’s too big. He has one of the more appealing profiles of any qualifier so far.

Great stuff VF.

Im very keen on The Organist but wondered if last year was his year. Also this race is turning out to be a precursor to Grade 1 success. Can I see The Organist in that bracket.......I think not.

One to look at who hasn't qualified yet (I'm confident he will) is Not Many Left. Take a look at his form, its right up there with a profile for a future player in Graded company. He's 25/1 with 365.

Scooby,
Some days he's a HE other days a SHE :highly_amused:

Mark Howard says this is one for JP and puts up Sire Du Berlais and The Organist. He does also mention that Full Glass might not run this weekend and instead wait for the Pertemps qualifier next weekend and if he does he’s well treated over hurdles

Great to hear!
I've got three covered at decent prices:
Sire Du Berlais
The Organist
Walk to Freedom

I've got a lot of time for Mark Howard! :encouragement:

Could anyone direct me the list of qualifiers to happen and their dates?

Sorry, reread it got it now. Great work again

I think the 2 Jessica Harrington horses are worth considering in the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle on the Thursday. Not Many Left won the qualifier at Huntingdon last Saturday and Not Many Left is out of Oscar (Jessica Harrington has a very good strike rate at Cheltenham with Oscar offspring) and her other horse that has qualified is Walk To Freedom who is generally 16/1 but with William Hill is currently 33/1. Walk To Freedom has mixed hurdling and chasing this year but has qualified for the Pertemps and along with Not Many Left has a very good chance.
The Phillip Hobbs horse Wait For Me is also an attractive price at 33/1 with B365. He had a wind op before his last race where he qualified for the Pertemps so maybe ready to pounce at an attractive weight in the final at Cheltenham.
The final horse I have backed antepost for this race is Dawn Raider who is trained by Patrick Kelly who has won this race twice in the last 3 years with Mall Dini and Presebting Percy. He brought Dawn Raider over last October to the qualifier at Cheltenham where he finished 3rd to qualify. It’s a very similar pattern to Mall Dini & Presenting Percy so would considering as he may well be backed in on the day.

The jockeys he's managed to book on Dawn Raider are impressive.

Davy, Barry, Ruby, Robbie Power, Rachel Blackmore, Patrick Mullins

1 win in 21 races doesn't scream festival winner, but everything else does :triumphant:

I’m wondering if he will run him in another qualifier where he will probably finish in a place to bump up his rating a few enough to qualify??
Does anyone know which qualifier Sure Du Berlais will have a go at to qualify or has he done enough?? He’s the current favourite but not sure if he’s qualified yet??

I think he's qualified with his 6th place in his last run.

Thanks Quevega, Sire Du Berlais is a definite them?? He’s top weight at present isn’t he on current ratings or have I misunderstood this?? I’m fairly inexperienced at handicaps so apologies if I sound clueless

He;s rated 142 in Ireland, but the British handicapper added 6lb to his rating last year when he ran in the martin pipe (138-144)
So whilst I'd expect something added, to the 142, I'd like to think it wouldn't be 6lb this year based on his form.
I'd say unlikely to be top weight. But would be top halfdozen maybe
