National Hunt Chase (4 miler) 2019

Is that really a 'huge stat' for him to overcome though? How many horses with decent chances has he had?

Would you be against a Willie Mullins horse in a Gold Cup just because he's never won it before?

I agree it's a significant hurdle because for me to have trained for as long as Hendo has, and to have won so many festival races, it suggests hid training style/strategy doesn't lend itself to 4 milers at Cheltenham.
Possibly he doesn't have the call on the best amateurs ? Though he's had the services of the dentist so this perhaps less of an issue.
This is a unique race, I think it does require specific training regime, as does the cross country....

N.Henderson never won this race. Huge stat to overcome.

Not sure he's had a horse 'good enough' that he's put in the race tbh. The last 5 runnings he had the following:

2018 - Reigning Supreme - rated 134, finally won a beginners chase in November on a flat track (Kempton), besides that he's struggled at around 3m+, including in his PTP's.

2017 - Beware The Bear - rated just 120 over hurdles, lacks class? Had 3 runs over 3m 3f and has been PU twice and finished a distance behind Tiger Roll in this, doesn't stay the trip?

2016 - No runner

2015 - No runner

2014 - No runner

Not really sure how much of a stat this is as only gone back the last 5 races but OK Corral is certainly rated highly enough, and will likely be Henderson's best ever chance, to date, to land this race I suspect.

Personally think Mr whipped is his best chance. Certainly a higher class of runners anyway.

I'd imagine he would from memory.

I'd agree with you though CCM, and he's have plenty of the strong trends in his favour too, owner, jockey, a high rating, previous festival form

Beware the Bear may lack the class. But he certainly stays the trip.

Mr Whipped will be better next season. Big baby.

You just have a thing for Grech & Parkin ;):highly_amused:

I genuinely think hes a better chance and more suited to this.

All be it I'm wearing my G&P cufflinks. Waiting for it to rain to get the G&P umbrella out

Definitely lacks the class!

There was a pretty mighty gamble on him wasn't there for this race?

I placed £2.50 e/w for my wife while we were there and I seem to remember being staggered he was single figures?

Haha

Think we can see why they cut OK Corral to such a short price now.....that was very good.

What a brilliant performance. V classy

Hope it wasnt too good and they think RSA!!!

Absolutely brilliant performance and jumped very well.

Worry for the RSA as could be a player in that now....but NH says 4 miler, so praying he still goes there!
