PP & Betfair wasted no time, straight into 14's, though bigger is still available elsewhere.

Surprised 33/1 stiiiil available with BetVictor, couldn't resist a top up at that price, did make one big error today otherwise jumped fine

You must have hoovered that up, as they're now only 25/1 :p

On todays run he has oodles in hand over Impulsive Star, who managed to come (a distant) 4th last year.
 
Henderson would need to improve his record in this race big time.

Its a race that tends to be won by better horses these days. Henderson has a preference for a different route.

You'd rule out a horse in the 4 miler at Cheltenham because it was trained by Nicky Henderson?

Paul Nicholls doesn't have a great record either does he?

Arguably the two best trainers in the country?
 
He is 20/1 with Hills (22/1 if you can boost him) to win any race. That is the way I've played OK Corral after today's race but I already have 33/1 for this and 27/1 for any race.

He is a talented horse and as much as I think he'll probably end up here, he could slot into a number of races depending on what connections have.

A pleasing debut over fences though.
 
As someone else posted, I think if Santini is good as they think he is, it makes sense to swerve the RSA and you'd think they would be the only two options for the horse.

Been choosing the any race option more this year but was happy to take the risk at the bigger odds with this one!

Not sure if someone had said it before but I certainly came up with this only to be reminded by Scooby of Might Bite Vs Whisper in the RSA, who were both Henderson horses.

Unfortunately (or fortunately if he makes it to this race) for me I've only backed him for this race and not 'any race' as I genuinely don't think he will be good enough to win the RSA myself but has the 'class' to win something like the NH Chase if that makes sense at all.
 
The JP horses will be split to suit JP and jockeys rather than the trainer?

Barry will need a ride in the RSA for JP just as much as JP will have a runner in the 4 miler with Derek O'Connor on board.

Ok Corral / Jerrysback / Defi Du Seuil / Rhinestone / Glenloe - probably some more I've forgotten... so target can't be certain yet, but I don't think avoiding Santini will be the reason, even if we end up at the same result.
 
May well end up like many of the chase entries so far this season but could potentially be pretty informative race with this race in mind

Hopefully Ruby/Paul are on the first choice Mullins runner and Patrick picks up the ride on Bacardys :devilish:

All eyes on his jumping.

Manageds to complete last time but he loses a min of 0.5L at each fence which is not ideal at all.

As soon as he gets his jumping together he becomes uber interesting!


Maybe one to back during the race, after seeing a few leaps?

We were very much in two minds whether to run him in the Drinmore and we possibly made the wrong decision by letting him take his chance. We were worried about the ground and that the trip might be too sharp for him on it. To be fair to Bryan, he did the right thing and looked after him when it wasn’t happening for him on the day. The plan will be to step him back up in trip. There is a Grade 3 novice chase over three miles at Naas on January 27th and that is the target we are leaning towards with him. After he ran so well at Cheltenham last March, of course you’d be thinking about getting him back there again. The novice options are obviously there for him, including the National Hunt Chase over four miles, but we’ll also keep an eye on what the handicapper does with him as one of the handicaps could be an option too.

Music to my ears the last bit. Im convinced he'll turn up in the 4miler or a handicap. Backed accordingly.

How he went off 50/1 today though from an opening 10/1. A crazy drift and I feel sick for not chancing him today

Another cracking run from Jerrysback today. His jumping has been improving considerably run to run. Love the fact they are getting lots of experience into the horse with 3 runs already. Into 20/1 now for this race. Worry would be that they either look towards handicaps (RUK made a point that he could potentially stay on 144 despite todays run...novice chase on day 1) or even JLT/RSA but i'm really keen on his chance here. Further he goes the better.
