National Hunt Chase (4 miler) 2018

PP have cut Elegant Escape to 4/1 for this, from 6/1. For those that follow the markets, this is an interesting price change, especially when they have such close links into Irish racing (and perhaps jockey bookings):devilish:

Just reading through the posts for Cheltenham and this one made me laugh enough to sign up :)
The price changed this morning after I bet on it in one of their shops. They cut the prices of every horse I backed as they have been doing for the last few weeks now which is fine as they at least lay me a decent stake. Sorry to report it was nothing more than that :)

You might need to elaborate a little for us Moby.... welcome.

Why do/would PaddyPower cut every horse you back?

Fair play Moby that's an entrance and a half, I second Kev's question :)

Hi
Thank you for the welcome. I've been betting on the festival profitably for 10 years or so now and have great difficulty getting on anywhere as I'm so well known to the Southern bookmakers (inc a barring letter from Hills), Paddy tend to let me on then cut all those I have bet on (I also backed EE for the RSA today) which is fair enough Lads/Corals pretty much do the same

Are you Patrick Veitch?

Haha not the last time I checked my driving license :)

What kind of bets will they lay you if you don’t mind me asking moby?

You need to tell us more Moby.

You can understand everyone being wary when your first post on here claims that Paddy Power are using you as the marker for their Cheltenham markets.

To clarify, you backed Elegant Escape today for the 4 miler and RSA chase and PP cut both?

I was under the impression people had "runners" placing their bets if it was at such high levels? (not that I'd know haha)

What are your reasons for fancying EE?

FM you old cynic, thought you trusted bookies

Liability around the £3,000 mark seems not to upset them. Each way sometimes refused, and multiis can be trimmed.
Lads/Corals will take a little more usually.
tried runners/disguises etc but they can tell it's my bets so just go in myself now. All online accounts closed ages ago.

So £300 on a 10/1 poke is making them halve the odds in a Cheltenham market?!

EE will only run in the 4 miler if he gets a top amateur....his comments were virtually a plea the other day :) and if that's the case it will be around 7/2 and a good trade. If it runs in the RSA then it won't be 16-1 either.
Half the game is spotting shorteners as much as winners (provided you have the liquidity to lay back on the exchanges on the day)
Form with Black Corton looking good now.

I don't trust anyone, even less so on an open forum :devilish::highly_amused:

Agree 100%. Been doing it all the way through. Only I imagine most people can’t get a decent bet on with Sportsbook.

Think it will end up in the 4 miler as it looks a much easier race and the top amateurs are going to be putting that call in to Tizz if they're not already committed. But I've no idea who's already signed up for something else.
