Mullins stable tour

I’d never back something like this myself but the CPS novice hurdle treble could be clearer now:

Grangeclare West - Supreme
Sir Gerhard - Ballymore
Classic Getaway - Albert Bartlett

I'm sure someone said the owners want to split them up too.

They also have deploy the getaway who didnt get a mention

Like others I was disappointed not to see anything about Dysart Dynamo in the tour. I also wanted to see something on Ashroe Diamond and Vauban as well.

Interested that SkyBet are affiliated with SportingLife, and Kilcruit is name dropped for the SkyBet Supreme, yet they remained biggest price after everyone that cut him.

When part of supreme racing as Archie will probably agree - would not worry about those not included in tour has no bearing in how highly they are thought of at closutton

:highly_amused:What are you suggesting ?

PP are also affiliated and had Sir Gerhard at 14-1 for the ballymore.
Pretty sure that both only took peanuts from all the headcases on here (myself included obviously).
I'd be much more encouraged that the prices didn't alter prior to publication. That would be worse.

I think both races are basically interchangeable for the best horses in any case so it makes no odds. IMO.

What are the thoughts after the kilcruit , Sir Gerhard quotes ? I am more confident with kilcruit to win the supreme than I was with Sir Gerhard .

I would tell everyone I know to chill, and not to take the stable tour as gospel at this time.
I wouldn't cash out any bets at the moment. There's plenty to happen yet.

Willie's is basically just sharing his initial thoughts, so much could and will happen between now and march.
So sit on all you've got at the mo.

Could not agree more silverbirch. This happens every year, plenty is going to change as the year rolls on. I much rather watch the races and take an opinion myself, and take Mullins comments with a large dose of salt at this point in the year.

When his stable tour in the RP comes out tomorrow, Kilcruit will be classed more of a Ballymore type, Ferny, Gauloise, Concertista to stay hurdling, Grangeclare West to go the longer route and Klassical Dream to try chasing again!!:beaten:

Glad GDM goes chasing.

Yep, great to hear. I even thought it sounded like Mullins was less confident of Galopin going chasing ?

I'm pretty gutted dysart dynamo wasn't mentioned, I know he doesn't have enough room for every horse but dysart's clearly well thought of so no reason not to mention him. I get the feeling we'll get news soon that he's picked up a knock/injury.....just my opinion of course.

This is like watching a sledgehammer to parts of my antepost book

I've backed both gdc and gdm for the rsa so hopes are still alive there but sir gerhard and Kilcruit I've backed the other way around. It is willie mullins so things could easily change though !

There's a decent chance it's simply a case of the journalist not asking the question, I wouldn't get too down about it just yet! Plenty more of these stable tour articles will appear over the coming days and they always have a few the others didn't.

It would all depend on who the journo asked him about.

Wouldnt think Willie would bring a list of them to the interview.

He would just let the journo run through those he had on his list.

Thats all, nothing to fear, to my mind anyway.

Not much of a Journo if you skipped Dysart but asked about some of the other muck included :excitement:

Reading this stable tour is comical in places, would take anything written here with a rather large pinch of salt! Mentions novice chasing for haunt en colours yet he's entered for the morgiana in a fortnight's time says it all really :sour:
