He could have seen something in her work yesterday or this morning and decided to enter her at fairyhouse, who knows ?

They will not have made their minds up where any of their horses will run in March.
Too much stuff will happen before then to plan for such a long term event, and Willie won't mind the trip most of them run at between now and March.
He does seem to mind what ground they start their season on though.

Agreed. He'll let them sort themselves on the track.

Trainers are creatures of habit and at this stage perhaps Melon's is working more like the 2miler, but that could change at any stage.

Faugheen has two future entires both novice chases so that looks like the way there going with him. Can get 50s with unibet for this which if I had to guess would be the most likely of the 3 novice chases but at 11 if he takes to fences might they chuck him in the deep end?

If he really took to fences I reckon they would go GC in view of his age.

I think that too....but not as confidently I did before they said they actually might go chasing. I still don't believe it until I see it.

I know what you mean. Think he should be retired but just like Mullins to prove us all wrong.
 
If horses want to race keep racing them as long as no welfare issues. If people had there way then youd never of got sprinter winning the last champ chase or Kauto winning the last KG, its a sport as long as the horses are looked after and I dont see any evidence that there not.

Although I made a case for Reserve Tank in the RSA, there’s every chance he could end up here and he’d be my pick for this too. The one at a price I like is Tornado Flyer. He had an interrupted season over hurdles but was thought good enough to run in two Grade 1 races regardless. He’s always struck me as a chaser and if they can get a consistent season out of him I think this intermediate distance is where he’ll end up. 33/1 with cash out has enough legs for me.

Seems like I’ll have to put my money where my mouth is now that Tornado Flyer is entered over 2m 3f tomorrow.

Ah yes, just done this myself.

Was the highest rated bumper horse Mullins has ever had wasn't he..... happy to forgive his run last time out and if he retains the ability he had, the 33/1 will be long gone.

Not much risk either to be fair.

Things didn’t go his way at the start of last season as the dry autumn delayed his start over fences but his placed form in two chases doesn’t look bad now. He had done plenty of schooling over this summer and I was delighted with his Stratford win last week. He'll stay over 2m4f for the time being and will stick to novices to the end of the season but there are no firm plans.

Finished on a good note behind Buveur D’Air in the Punchestown Champion Hurdle after an interrupted campaign. I was delighted with his comeback at Uttoxeter, where he jumped well on the whole and was just awkward when in tight at one or two, as he was jumping his hurdles. As in his Supreme Novices' Hurdle win he looked in trouble going to two out but he stayed on strongly and the best part was Johnny [Burke] said he couldn’t pull him up. He'll probably get further and he doesn’t mind soft ground.
 
Whet do these updates appear ? No doubt a subscription jobbie, RPost ?

Haven’t backed Reserve Tank for this, thought he would be an RSA type after what happened with LIT last year they would go up in trip but they believe he does have the speed for this or even an Arkle. I think he will need to be tip top today as I think If you say run could give him something to think about getting the 7lbs if he isn’t on song. Backers will hope his previous run will put him right for today.
 
Mister Fisher, Birchdale and Angels Breath all entered at Cheltenham on Friday. You’d think one would stand their ground and will possibly be a pointer to the pecking order.

Mister Fisher also has an entry over 2m2f at Taunton too.
 
Better from Reserve Tank, ran well to the line also.
 
Yep - cashed it now and will leave for a while.
But that looked more like an RSA horse to me, just as many expected.
