I wasn't overly impressed but it was much better than Chepstow and finished the race strongly. Zero chance in an Arkle imo.
 
Don't think I'd want to be on Tornado Flyer for anything. I just don't think he's one of the stars, and you have to question that bumper form, what with Blackbow being beat over hurdles yesterday. Not for me, even if it was his first start over fences.

Relegate another who has her own question marks. Just not a deep bumper for me.
 
Tornado Flyer gets the win... not exactly decisive though.

Discorama won the same race last year, Mullins ran Bacardys.

Year before he also ran Bacardys :highly_amused:

Road To Respect won this race a while back, but Mullins runner than year was Acapella Bourgious..... I know it's a different year but perhaps Tornado Flyer isn't going to be at the top of Mullins' tree?


They've actually pushed him out to 50/1

To be honest I was more listening than watching as I was playing Disney Heroes on my phone whilst eating a jaffa cake so I don't know.

Mullins - He is going novice chasing and is one that could end up being best over two miles. He is out of a mare by Exceed And Excel that is a half-sister to Hurricane Fly, so there is plenty of natural speed there.


I did watch the end of the race and he wasn't at his strongest there, so perhaps he's more an Arkle type - but ultimately probably not good enough.

He made a very big error and townend did well to stay on. This was around halfway and at the far end so not easy to see.
probably a bit better than the result if that had much of an effect.
but it was a bunchy finish and not one for me.

Off out now for a friends birthday... the last 4 years we've ended up back at his watching The Lion King with a bottle of rum.

So I expect I'll be on here giving me well balanced views on people's bets and opinions in around 10 hours.

Something to look forward to reading back tomorrow morning.
 
On the upside, it was a fairly deep race. Far more so than, say, Samcro's.

I wouldn't be rushing to back him but I wouldn't totally discard him just yet.

Would love to get Bapaume onside, but 20/1 is crap!

It's one I need to think over tonight, although I would still be likely to cover him, even just as a cover bet for the rest, seeing as it's a race I seem to have gone heavy in.
 
Bapaume has been a consistent eyecatcher over hurdles for 2 years now. I was surprised he wasn’t sent chasing last season in fairness but it’s possible he could improve massively. CoD - I agree with you i’d like bigger than 20/1 to get involved but he is tempting nevertheless

The irony in WPM using the fact they didn't get enough rain last season to get early runs in to many, and now we have rain the fixture is called off :devilish:

One I have at a big price for this race runs today called Windsor Avenue - was very impressed with his jumping display LTO at Sedgefield and Brian Ellison thinks the world of him. He will need to be real good if he is to beat Ballymoy today conceding 5lb to the Twiston-Davies horse but Ballymoy didn't jump fluently whatsoever LTO and I think WA could have him at it from a long way with his front running style. Even with a win I doubt he will be cut a great deal due to the connections but its a horse I definitely think will go under the radar this season.

I added this morning @ 40/1 EW. It sounds odd to be talking up a run at Sedgefield with a view to this but it was visually very impressive
 
Windsor Avenue did that very nicely conceding 5lbs as well. Could look not bad prices come March Charlie and dj

As predicted WA forced the pace and won very nicely conceding the weight. Nice to have one at 50/1 to look forward to
