Marsh Novices Chase 2020 (was JLT)

Flexibility is key
Some punters are ante post players , you take the prices and you take the risks
Others are NRNB and some SP
Horses for courses and what suits ones pockets

Absolutely correct HP, I just feel Samcro was cut today more so by name than by nature of the victory.

LBAR a proper forum horse tomorrow, glad Greatrex didn’t sound too concerned about the ground as looks like there will be a fair bit of rain

She’s an early season flat track bully. I don’t think ground conditions are as important as seasonal broodieness.

I know Gordy is saying he wasn't right all year....

but what a waste of a season tarting about over hurdles.

Boo Gordon.

Was very disappointed when they made that decision and after watching that chase debut I feel it's a justified opinion.

All this shite about him being good enough to win a CH? Who gives a fck.

Gold Cup > Champion Chase > Arkle > Champion Hurdle > Ascot Gold Cup

Arkle>Champion Hurdle?

Would you rather Western Warhorse over Faugheen?
Captain Chris over Hurricane Fly?

Regardless of what he did he still gets the lung infection but probably loses his Novice tag instead of finishing second to BDA on debut

Rain will help. Won in deep ground at Ascot last year. She will jump them silly and win easily. Price is gone now but 16's Ew in KG is a gift. She will be 8's max after tomorrow.

Been on the sauce Kev? -:)))
The horse wasn’t right irrespective of targets

Bit unfair, would you rather

Altior or Rock on Ruby
Sprinter Sacre or Punjabi

Two mile chasing is more exciting than 2 mile hurdling.

And 100% I'd have wanted Faugheen to go chasing

I know he wasn't, that didn't justify their decision.

He's a chaaaaser and always looked like one.

Was a bad decision. Luckily they've done the right thing this year

Lol, this time last year, I was getting abuse across the board, for saying shes a very good horse and wouldnt be surprised if she won the kauto star.

Now a forum horse.

FWIW she might be one like percy, who used their experience to good stead their novice year, and doesn't progress on again massively.

You’d want those two because of what they did after!

You have picked Faugheen and Hurricane Fly out... surely based on their careers, not purely the first CH they won.

Of course you take into account what they did after, it's the decision to go novice chasing to the Arkle that's commendable to create the chance to be a top class 2 mile chaser. Like the two I picked out.

I maintain, chasing is more exciting than hurdling. Just like hurdling is more exciting than flat racing.

There will always be exceptions and the elite top hurdlers will be better than plenty of chasers BUT overall and on average, I'd prefer to see horses chasing.

Not arguing that point , my point is the horse wasn’t right so irrespective whatever targets were

and what are the Grrrrreetex excuses
So happy I don’t follow hype
Can make my own mistakes😂

Not been on over the weekend, but was very pleased with Samcro, albeit his price now is an absolute joke!!

Beat almost nothing, but I particularly liked how he responded in the final furlong or so when asked to clear away. Not unduly worried about him jumping slightly right handed as Down Royal would be a decent test for any novice. Couldnt have asked for much more from the day and on to the Drinmore. That will be a slightly different test! Horse could be Evs if he wins that.

Thought it was very interesting to listen to Ruby and his views about wanting to see the horse struggle to be pulled up and that didn't happen. Its not something I've ever really paid particularly close attention to... but will be now!

I still have him down as being a backable price CCM. It's not like he's particularly short.

I think Im struggling with the fact he was available at 16/1 a few weeks ago and is now 7/1 after showing little more than he is alive! I also think the JLT could be a strong race this year.
