Marsh Novices Chase 2020 (was JLT)

I know what Nichols said he’ll stay further but I don’t see him a serious contender for RSA

Not yet he isn't, and I don't like his age.
But he's very unexposed, and that was a good start.
Looks a stayer, and goodish ground RSA most likely if he steps up in next couple runs.

Thought fortunate to win today , will need to step up v quickly .
Appreciate low mileage but then age and lack of experience against

Very happy with that performance from Master Tommytucker today. I already had him backed for this race (and think it's the most likely) but topped up a point any race at 25/1 as he won.

I'd be lying if I said Who Dares Wins is top form but it was a decent enough Novice chase coming back from a layoff where Nicholls horses have tended to need a run and I've no doubt he'd be one that will come on bundles for it. Still fairly green and inexperienced, if they can get a clear run with him there's imo so much more potential.

Harry Cobden put him up as his horse to follow last year and after today said
To be honest we though he was just about the best we had last season.

“Make no mistake, he's a proper, proper horse.”

Paul Nicholls has for the last 2 seasons had him as a horse to follow / dark horse. Very complimentary again after today

No doubt at home he's right up there. Hope to see him progress in this race but could well even end up in the Ultima / Novice Chase (mark depending) hence the any race top up

Sad to hear about Western Ryder (and worse First Assignment) yesterday. I was at Ludlow and for him to win that race having injured himself 3 out was remarkable.

Ive cashed out all TD bets for a surprisingly small loss ( suppose that was the benefit of getting 40/1). Think he needs to go back over hurdles myself, he just doesn't look like a horse who enjoys fences.

Watched PN interview, have a couple of pounds @50/1 but like and agree with your last paragraph

Very good performance on chase debut by the mare, Salsaretta.

She'll need a trip so here or RSA for me, with a mares allowance too, she's no mug.

Been found out more than enough though, and been spanked by better mares than her.
Her winning that race on debut may say more about the others in the race, than her.

Drinmore looks potentially very informative.

I may have an interest in every runner if they all declare, but all for different races.
How am i going to sort that lot out ?:highly_amused:

I’m sure they won’t all run, but a good number of quality horses will. You have to love the Irish racing their horses against each other through the season on many occasions. They will be like hardened conkers come the Festival in March relishing taking on taking on the softer prepared opposition.

I do agree, though she was always a big mare, ready for chasing, when she was hurdling, so it just may be that she'll be better for fences in general.

Tornado Flyer form took a hit there.

Yep, I thought it might.

Galvin given an interesting ride to my eye.
Definite handicap prospect.

I’d be pretty sure that BoD will side step

Unlucky with that CCM.

Of the entries - according to my antepost bets, we could be seeing the gold cup winner, arkle winner, jlt winner and rsa winner all in the drinmore :highly_amused:

Not sure what i want to happen, but I hope all four finish thereabouts.
Actually think Ronald Pump might win (think the trainer has found some magic polo mints myself), as some of his horses ares showing amazing improvements, and they're throwing money around supplementing too.
Although I think I'm going to back Burrows Saint (price based)
