Mares Hurdle 2024

Willie having 4 of the top 5 in the betting for this is bananas isn't it :monkey:

Will Lossie go odds on? The 'general public' seeing her as the stable number 1?

Extra places on the day of race market will see some tempting bets .... but it is a deep race in terms of what could place ....

Tough one really, this entire post says nothing.

Under control looks good each way value to me in particular if she's an intended runner. 33/1 compared to 4 and 8 for ashroe and gala after splitting them last time.

You can definitely make the argument of how gala can improve past her, but under control can improve herself with her run last time coming on the back of a stinker where there must have been something amiss. Her beating of iberico lord at the end of last season would also make you think she might have a fair bit more to come given what he has gone on to achieve this season.

I do like under control, but for a handicap over 2 miles

ive taken to Gala, after being against her most of the season. She ran well behind ashroe despite the allowance she was giving away and being her first time out, also think a step up in trip will suit her

I’ll be playing her with the W/O Lossie market - can see her beating ashroe

Hendo mentions Under Control as going for a handicap. I like her for the County although her odds are quite short. Also liked Theatre Glory for the Coral Cup but appears they want to try a harder Mares race than the one she was beaten in last year. Marie's Rock is his other horse for the Mares.

Yeah I saw that but McManus also has iberico lord with Henderson at the head of the county hurdle betting, and also zenta. So I'm thinking they may send one of under control or zenta to the mares since they've nothing else for that race, but they may think otherwise. But 33/1 nrnb is value each way I think.

….Under Control has an entry for the Morebattle, not sure if she’s an intended runner but Sky offer 33-1 Morebattle/any race.

Won’t be going after that you would think. Terrible.

Think Gala Marceau hit one of the hurdles and almost stopped, found nothing off the bridle, and it wouldn't surprise me if she picked up some sort of injury there.

Did the beaten horses have a great record in the Mares :welcoming:

It was bad but she hit her hind leg jumping one before that home turn, won’t be shocked if she’s injured after that for a bit.

Surprised cash put still available with 365

Found nothing there & probs. won’t be on the boat now I imagine let alone winning a Mares Hurdle, even allowing for the weight being carried she was hugely disappointing IMO. As Nwfb89 states - surprised cash out available with Denise. Have binned all anteposts with her in that aren’t NRNB. Back to drawing board :upset:

Massive disappointment there. Was going to be a tough ask for her to beat Lossiemouth anyway, but thought the extra step up was going to be a positive, now be lucky to see her there.
Found it a bit strange Danny did not keep the ride today considering how well he gets on with her.

….Gala Marceau available @ 16-1 NRNB.
