Mares Hurdle 2020

Just asking the question as I was thinking of possible scenarios. Just find her a really interesting mare... Playing Willie Mullins bingo

I remember they skipped Cheltenham with Vroum Vroum Mag for a graded Mares chase at limerick just after Cheltenham. Don't know if that's still in the schedule but could be an option with Laurina if all roads lead to the new Mares chase 2021.

But what would she have to lose by running at Cheltenham?

Laurina is a previous festival winner, she won't be skipping it for those owners to go for a Mares Chase at Limerick.

Love Stormy, was a big fan last season and backed her for the Mares accordingly. Clear nothing is as good as her today, doubt any of the ones she beat today would be good enough for this race either.

Id strongly disagree with your final sentence.
I'm a big stormy Ireland fan. But elfile ran a huge race giving her weight, and a very soft lead on her 1st big step up. I think shes a knocking bet at 33s EW myself. And wouldnt be suprised if she turns over stormy Ireland down the line.

I didn’t see the race but happy to see Elifie finish 2nd and drift out to 33’s, I’ll be tipping up on her soon.

33's is fair

Personally I've made a note of this race to avoid it ante post. I just think the top end is so strong theres no real value EW.

Easily was said the same last year when apples jade was long odds on, And I ended up with the 1-2-3 at big prices EW.

just like last year. We don't know for sure if the market leaders will come here

Guess it all depends how likely you see the favourites are to run. But I won't be touching the race till the day.

Where was that big man?

Not a big shock I suppose.

One horse who was significantly absent from Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting was Benie Des Dieux – and she may now go straight to Cheltenham.

“Benie is in good form but just not straight enough to run this week, so we left her at home,” said Mullins.

“She might just go straight to Cheltenham.

“We could go to the Galmoy Hurdle or something like that. Last year she went straight to Cheltenham, but last year was funny with the ground.”

I posted this on numerous occasions in September or October.
He did it with the Best, and he did it with Annie P too.

Tom Messenger, assistant to Roksana's trainer Dan Skelton, was satisfied with the mare's effort but unsure on future plans.

He said: "It was a really good run and we have been beaten by a horse that has won a Supreme, so he was no mug and he has come here without a penalty.

"We could have probably enjoyed a bit more of test of stamina. We have been beaten by a speed horse.

"What we do in the spring, whether we come here for the mares' race then go to Aintree for the Grade One (Stayers Hurdle) she was just touched off in last year, or whether we go straight to Aintree, I'm not sure. I think she is better in the spring."

Not sure if Tom's been misquoted here or not.
But ...

1.beaten by a speed horse ??
2. go straight to aintree ?? (when you're the reigning champion)

puzzling as fuck.

I suppose Summerville Boy being a twice G1 winning 2 miler you can see why he's said tht about Summerville Boy (although I agree with you that he's a staying type)

...but missing Cheltenham to go fresh to Aintree? Can't mean that can they?

She'll be under estimated in the market because she keeps getting chinned by the dudes.

Still, place claims for me... despite backing her, is all I'm aiming for, for now.

Blimey - straight to Aintree would be a strange one. She has to go Mares doesn’t she? Surely - she’s the reigning champ (albeit due to Benie hitting the deck)

Pretty sure they're 6/4 the pair on PP NRNB.

BDD all day mate

Just thought it strange they switched favs on back of nrnb, probably to tempt folk to back BDD in stayers, 4/1
