Mares Hurdle 2020

A Grand return is special for the Fez. Excellent stuff. You and me will be made up.

I wasn’t massively stunned to see her not running today but does anyone know the official reason?

I did think until Mullins’ stable tour before the season began that she’d be going straight to Cheltenham again - Leaving her fresh for the end of the season again.

I don't, but it was deffinately the plan to run here, as per joe chambers previously.

Likely way off, but maybe they watched epatante. And thought let's go over shorter than 3m 1st time up

Interesting. Missed that with JC.

I’d be very tempted with her to go Stayers for her. In fact, if I was Mullins before the season began, I’d have looked at the race with a 50/50 split between that and the Mares and go Mares if it was a penalty kick. But with Honeysuckle doing what she has and their connections’ stubbornness to go here, why would Mullins and Ricci want to take her on when it could be just as tough in the Stayers or Champion Hurdle. At least those two races have more prestige than the Mares. And I have no doubt she’s good enough to put it up to Paisley Park.

That being said, I’m just talking aloud and she will probably end up in a head to head with Honeysuckle which, at the very least, will be a cracker.

I'd argue there isn't a lot of prestige in winning the Stayers over the Mares.

Especially for Willie?

Both grade 1's.

Paisley Park over 3m is no easier to beat than Honeysuckle over 2 and a half either (impossible to argue really?)

As good as Honeysuckle has looked, BDD is the one to beat still on the form she's got in the book last season.

BDD won't be running scared of Honeysuckle, to attempt to beat Paisley Park.

Ther is more chance they went 2m than 3m IMO unless PP got injured.

She should just run at Leop... bloody loves the place!

Looks like her little hunting trip last week did get the spark back as they hoped. Great to see.

Didn't realize Easy Game won today. Honey form looks a little better now ! Where will she run next ? In a way I want someone to win the big 2 mile race tomorrow with ease to put to bed any thoughts of going Churdle.

Apples Jade could come to the rescue and win the Irish Champion again also.
She's back on heat by looks of it.

Yep. She's some mare. Thought she was finished. Both her and Faugheen have been incredible stories this season. Amazing stuff. Racing never fails to surprise me.

Good call Q, if shes on Leopardstown form then she will be difficult to beat with mares allowance.

Was mulling over this last night, do we think Laurina could be left at home this year and saved for the mares chase this year or even be rerouted to this race? Yes she had excuses last time out and I’d be more than willing to forgive her as it came about she bled Boxing Day. If we go back to the mares novice two years ago she was very impressive. She’s only been beaten twice in her life. Do we feel she is just not as good or isit that she just hasn’t got the pace for 2 miles. So many questions regarding her I just find her fascinating and probably want her to be better than she actually is.

She won't be left at home unlesss she's injured or the boat sinks.

She could run here, she's no price to risk. Maybe somebody will price her up wrong NRNB for here... but she's not proven she's better than Benie Des Dieux yet.

I remember they skipped Cheltenham with Vroum Vroum Mag for a graded Mares chase at limerick just after Cheltenham. Don't know if that's still in the schedule but could be an option with Laurina if all roads lead to the new Mares chase 2021.
