Mares Hurdle 2020

If you get accepted on the Honeysuckle double theres every chance you wont get paid out. You wont get a refund if he loses but if she wins they will be within their rights under their terms and conditions to refuse to pay. Ive had this done to me and learnt the hard way to ask their traders to price up the double. Im not saying a few wont slip through coz im not that familiar with how bookies operate, but Ive had one of these bets land and they refused to pay. Just saying.

Absolutely this. Not worth doing it as, when Honey wins Sunday, you'll spend the next 3 months wondering.

You can always request a price.
Sky do request a bets, betway bet your way, I’m sure others do too.
Whatever your preferred bookie ask them for a price, it’ll be less than you are probably expecting though...

True. To win both races you may get 5/1 Benie and 10/1 Honey. Take your pick

That's just it though. It's not unfinished business. She won it in 2018. That's my last bit on this race until after Sunday. Let the horses do the talking! Can't wait.

Quevega would be an example of how desperate Willie is for getting a winner at the festival, any winner.

And a Tuesday winner is enjoyed all the more, as it settles any early nerves on how the horses are going to perform.

Regaining a crown too... the 'would be 3 time champion'.

I can't realistically see a scenario where BDD lines up anywhere but the Mares race if she's fit and well. Laurina coming back over hurdles after a botched Chase campaign, Paisley Park injured, Honeysuckle thrashes her and BDD running over Christmas against the boyus over 3m and bolting up would ALL need to happen for it to even get considered :p

Agree with the last bit but the first two points....not having it.

Lay her for this race then.... if you're right BDD will lose this weekend and drift, and then you tink she'll be in the stayers.... so you could be making money so easily if you're right?

You're probably right but never been a layer of horses. Won't be backing Honey either. Just watching with bated breath this Sunday. If Honey loses then I'll take it on the chin. Don't think it'll happen though !

As a massive honey fan Lobos what do you make of the 7/2 on offer?

She’s won on the snaff plenty but has still a decent bit to find.

I am a huge fan of Benie but Honey has more speed, jumps better, travels that much better and, to me, has more class than Benie. She still has it to prove on Sunday but I have every confidence she will. 7/2 will prove to be a gift but it's all about March for me and I'm all in for the Mares so Sunday is just a watching/enjoying day for me. What a fabulous race to have this early in the season. Magic.

Thanks BillyMag
I was under the impression that if they accept the bet then it’s binding , obviously I’m wrong .
I’ll email them to seek clarification
Thanks mate
Just rang Fred and you are absolutely correct , they’d have informed me after the first leg where it would have been picked up on their system .
They agreed that I shouldn’t have been allowed to place the bet and they’re crediting my account .
Would have been well hacked off if it’d had won !!
Thanks again

PS asked if Traders could quote a price and told no

I find PP and WH are the best firms to price these up, they can sometimes be wildly apart so if your not happy with price offered by the first dont assume the other will be the same price, sometimes you get a nice surprise.

HONEYSUCKLE is a great Ew bet for this race before she runs this weekend. Will not be out the parcel and will put it up to Benie.

Have backed HONEYSUCKLE at bigger prices EW and have gone in again 5/1 EW.

Honestly pal there arent too many horses that travel as well as Benie, have a watch back if you havent recently and see the way she moves through G1 races. She moves like a dream.

The fact that you are so confident over a 7/2 and not backing makes me think your missing the point about gambling tbh.

Yep.
7/2 sunday. if you're a fan.
You takes your chances when you can.
Think Benie should win it though, but Honey does look very nice.
Definitely think a mare wins it

Only bet when I go racing these days or sometimes on big races. Pile pretty much everything into the fez. Up there from Monday to Saturday so a huge expense for me. Have been very lucky over the years with my Cheltenham AP bets so no need to change now. Very much looking forward to Sundays race though.

Each to their own and if it’s working for you then good luck
Personally if I felt as strong as you do about Honeysuckle then I’d simply have to hammer her for Sunday .
I’m huge BDD fan if you’ve not gathered by now but obviously recognise the danger in Honeysuckle and have covered accordingly.
If anything else wins the Mares then I’m bolloxed
We all bet differently , it’s all subjective
Jack I’m in agreement

Love Benie. Spent hours watching her races. Yes, she does travel well but has hit the odd flat spot in some of her races which I haven't seen yet in Honey. Just think Honey has that bit more speed about her and will get Benie off the bridal earlier than she'd like.

Happy with elfile there, she showed a good amount of pace too, which was my major worry beforehand. Expect her to come on for the run, and hopefully will see her over 2m4 next

Agreed, very nice jumper. Someone taking a quick look at the result will think she underperformed there or whatever, but she had plenty in hand. After Fairyhouse she proved she's a middle distance one

Never caught the race, would you say it was a positive race and form for Honeysuckle?
